Re: My 89 240 SX with 350 V8 power!

dude dont dis on mynismo.
i give you an A for your effort. i sure dont have the fabrication skills to put that engine in there. but like stated before, it takes away the whole pride of the lightweight inline 4 engine. and what nissan had in mind when they made the car. lightweight, good handling, sportscar. NOT a muscle car.

sorry man, but it wasnt illogical or random, i was stating my opinion about how i would rather have a small lightweight engine have 300 hp than a heavy engine thats going to make the car handle like shit. but maybe hes just going to drag it or show it, i dont care its not my car!

Re: My 89 240 SX with 350 V8 power!

My constructive comments include:
get a bodykit to cover up the sidepipes
get wider wheels so you can hook up cause all that v8 power wont do shit for u when u cant get traction.
and the i4 v8 battle is stupis u say the i4 has to be pimped out to be fast and that its way more expensive but thats a bad argument because a v8 in a 240 isnt exactly fucking cheap. and everyone is saying the v8 is stock well no, a v8 in a 240 is not stock yes the engine maybe stock but saying this is stock is a stretch

Re: My 89 240 SX with 350 V8 power!

I like different things... this is really different.

It's very similar to putting in a V8 into a 240z, or a V8 into a FC3S Rx-7, or a V8 into a Miata... same principle. Lightweight RWD japanese sports car, highout put V8 makes for giggles-o-fun.

You should try it sometime... let go of the brand favoritism. Like myself, I put a SR20DET into my 240z... a 4 banger into what used to be a inline 6. Different? You betcha... Variety is the spice of life... don't know what will be fun till ya try it.

But back to the 240sx... If anything, the V8 will make it a better drift car... not just cause the power, but cause it's got a little more weight bias towards the front... the ass should swing out with less hassle.

Kinda cool... with proper suspension and brake tuning I bet it'd do really good.

for effort! Definately has good potiential, both performance and asthetics wise.

Re: My 89 240 SX with 350 V8 power!

i wasn't downing the v8 (as much as i hate them). i was downing the way he put it together. he takes a 240sx, pops on some sidepipes and a v8, and then thinks its his old camaro. it just turns my stomach.

Re: My 89 240 SX with 350 V8 power!

While I don't normally like a V8 in any type of small engined car, I have to give you props, and say if I wanted a "fast cheap" car, I'd do the same. Never out of the question.

I must say though, you really should do something different with the side pipes. I wouldn't do sides at all. Maybe a rear, side, exit with a lil turndown and turn out. Still have a good sound, but look more "clean."

I, myself, yes would rather have a 240 with the SR20DET pushing out near 300hp and 25+ mpg. LoL buth that's just me

Haters keep at bay please. Hate on those who hate on you.

aint got nothing nice to say??... THEN DONT SAY NOTHIN!!!!

redneck.... i agree with you... v8's and their instant torque make for great powerplants for drifting... but what about the balance now? you say having all that weight up front is better? i would think having all that weight up front would make it spin out too easy at high angles.

oh so now its dont say anything id you dont have anything nice to say. well hoosier where did this come from cause this isnt very nice
"yay for me lol..... dickface... had to throw in my two cents... moved away from it?? he shouldnt even have said that in the first place... and oh ya... MIND YA BUSINESS!!"
congrats your offically a tool. you can join the club of other af tools who that i wish would shut the hell up. as far as a v8 goes for drifting if they were so amazing for drifting then why does no one drift w/ them. i dont see any badass drifters w/ v8's. im not saying you cant drift w/ a v8 im just saying i think a i4 is ideal for drifting not a v8.

Re: My 89 240 SX with 350 V8 power!

Can't you all see that this thread, which should have ended on page 1 with the pictures, is tearing us all apart?? Look what we've been brought down to? He wants a V8, good for him, it doesn't affect anyone, I personally don't like it, but I don't have time to start an internet war over it. Yes his motor is stock, but the money one guy spent to get a 300hp KA is the same money this guy spent on getting the V8 in his 240! All in all, WHO THE FUCK CARES?? Say you like it, say you don't, but it ends there! Damn...."forbidden name" would have ended it a long time ago.

Re: My 89 240 SX with 350 V8 power!

thi9s forbidden name that you speak of that starts w/ a "L" and ends w/ a "ogik" would have everyone n this thread set straight and i would have been rolloing on the ground in laughter while people like hoosier and 91300 would be sitting there w/ figers deep inside their asshole bitching abuot how we like to express our opinions w/ a little bit of flare. so fucking sue me im rude and obnoxious at times. at least i have fun and dont have my hand up my asshole.
final words on the car its a cool idea. not very practical but very good if you crave automotive attention.

So sidewayzs13, Have you seen the Pontiac GTO that drifts. Or how about the 2 Vipers with V10's that seems to dominate the drift tracks. And Skylines, Soarers, and Supras that all have inline 6's. Aparently the I-4 isn't the only motor that is good for drifting. I like the swap he has. As long as the car is set up properly it will be way kick ass. Also even with the extra weight, that 300hp V8 would stomp on a 300hp I-4 in a drag race. A race is won at the starting line. A good launch is everything, and there is no substitute for torque.

jesus you guys are harsh. i kinda like the whole swap thing, pretty different, same with the side pipes, however i would've styled them different. like make them shorter so they come out right behind the front wheels. Or even cut a whole on the lower part of the front fenders so that the pipes stick out from there, kinda like JGTC style. either way though, you're screwed whenever you get the car dropped, those pipes are gonna be screamin for dear life, lol.
