The info on a second McLaren F1 in Australia has been greatly exaggerated. I have confirmed that through someone I would consider to be an unquestionable source.

As always when I am confident, I challenge someone to prove that info to be incorrect. All in good fun of course.

Sorry to bump the thread up, but I believe I found a new sighting of the F1 in melbourne: http://www.ncr-pca.org/2005/ephraim/ I hope this hasn't been posted before!

The photo comes from the same event as many of the others - the 2005 Melbourne Grand Prix weekend. I've never seen it before though, so thanks!!

mclaren in melbourne

Hey guys,

Was in Collins St, Melbourne today when I came across the Mclaren F1 car. It was parked in a normal parking spot and I was amazed how many ppl where taking pics. I will try 2 upload the 2 pics i took with my phone. The plates were "MCLF-1" (Vic rego). Absolutely stunning in real life.

Picture from Collins st.

Here are the only 2 pics I took with my sony ericsson pda. They aren't the best but im sure plenty of other ppl took decent shots with professional cameras. I am confused to whether this is only only one in melb.....or if has been stacked? The number plates were those Vitreous enamel ones. Not the crap they produce now.

it wont let me load the other one. i'll try later

It is the only F1 road car in all of Australia - chassis #009. It was originally owned by Dean Wills, was then purchased Tony Raftis, and I hear that it has now been sold again to Barry Fitzgerald.

There's one F1 GTR in Australia with another on the way that has been converted for road use. They've been mentioned in another thread.

for the life of me, it wont allow me to post the second picture I took. I cant understand why it wont let me. I have been told the owner is the bloke that owns it now, owns various Mcdonalds stores in melbourne.

Just email both shots to me and I will host them remotely without the AutomotiveForums.com watermark.
