i'm agreeing with you, but you shouldn't take the best time ever recorded by a car and tell people thats what it runs. its best to tell them the average

Z06's have broke into the 11's but thats not what they usually run.

most people run mid to low 13's

This is quite a debate. I've done lots of research on all Mustangs, I was into the craze for a long time, and still like them. A few Mach 1's have broken into the 12's. Like YoungVR4 said, a Z06 has been known to run high 11's stock, but it's not the norm. Generally, and go ask Mustang guys about this, Cobras run closer to very low 13's. Keeping them in the 12's is a chore. I don't see how a car with 100 less hp is going to run 12's (regularly). GENERALLY, the Cobra is a high 12/low 13, the Mach 1 is a mid 13, and the GT is a high 13/low 14. Maybe we should verify this in the Mustang forum.

All I can say is you guys must live around or know alot of people that arent good drivers. Around here its the norm for stock 03's to see mid to low 12's and there are plenty of 11 and 10 second Cobras. Mach 1's are all in the low low 13's and high 12's. Hell my buddy's Auto 02 GT ran a 13.9 dead stock. and your going to tell me that a Mach 1 with 40 more hp is going to run the same time or slower. To those running alot slower than the car should run, they need lots of practice.

Um no. It has been clearly stated that ur precious mach1 would run a mid 13 second time on average. Please shut up about it. Your blowing it out of proportion and young has said he isn't denyin what u claim...HOWEVER. That guy must have had the best mach1 produced. Now if ur claiming guys around u ( I'm assuming high school/college students) run a 03 cobra stock into the 11s!!...why are they not professionally testing the cars? They obviously are professional drivers. Correct me if i'm wrong because i'm a little confused here.

Young is correct and you are wrong. You don't take the fastest time ever and say that's what it runs. You say the average. A stock 94+ vr4 SHOULD be running a 13.5/6/7/8 in a ¼mile run. Do u not think a vr4 has ever ran faster than a 13.5? I'm sure it has but it was just a car produced exceptionally well.

My bad lol I didn't specify the year of the mach 1, it was a 70 something mach 1, the big kind that was fastback, like the one from the original Gone and 60 seconds. Looks like you guys thought I meant the '03 Mach 1. Yeah right lol I wish I could take something like that with an SL. It was on the freeway so I guess a kill on a oldschool muscle car at those speeds doesn't have as much prestige beacause they mostly have close ratio gearing huh. Anyways I apoligize for not clarifying I hope I didn't make too much of a newbie retard of myself.

those are nice cars, and the one from gone in 60 seconds was a 1967 Ford Shelby Mustang GT-500, they're nice, but those 70's fastbacks had about what 260 Top HP???? I'm not sure on those numbers, so plz don't quote me on that cuz I think I read about it once in a magazine at one time.

The original Gone in 60 Seconds was a 72 Mach 1 if I remember right. The one with Nicolas Cage was a remake.

Yeah, I think the GT500 in the reamake was pretty sick though. The Mach 1 is also sort of tight, but I prefer the older style. Imagine old school muscle mixed with new age technology, that would be awesome. My dad's Charger has a 4 speed tranny that is close ratio, The thing hauls for a bus of a car. The same basic style as the one from Fast and the Furious for all you movie buffs, but it is a 68 instead of a 70 or whatever the one was in the movie. Anyway's the thing is fast as hell off the line, but the gearing is so short that it seems like on the freeway anything could take it above maybe 110-120...which is still respectable but you know what I mean. I wanna see what my SL can do against him, never tried, I am feeling sort of more confident about taking that 72 mach 1 but I dunno about my dads car. Should I give it a whirl?

This is almost as bad as that one time you tried to tell me how wrong I was when I said I had beat an sohc mtx 3000gt with my old dohc atx 3000gt.

Cobras are fast as hell and I saw a newer cobra take out an srt-4 on the street once. The cobra left the srt-4 so far behind that I've respected their power ever since, low 13's or high 12's.

in my opinion i have a 91 dodge stealth RT/TT and had never lost to any mustang here are my stats about those rustangs GT´s


89 thru 93 i have beat them for 2 cars
94 thru 98 i have beat them for 3 or 4 cars
99 thru 04 have beat them for 4 to 5 cars (the auto)
05 i have beat them for 1 or 2

for me the 99 thru 04 are the slowest i dont know why they are newer but what the heck the always eat my dust, a friend of mine has a 98 with clutch, chip and intake and we races for 9 blocks here in TJ and i beat him horrible i left him for like 6 cars or more and i misshifted in 2nd gear and he couldnt catch up with me, and another friend had a 03 GT and we ran a 1/4 mile and i beat him like for about 4 cars then he was so made he sold the rustang and bought a lightning jajajaj he got me on a long road for 1 car but in 2 blocks i got him for 2 car 1 car and a half maybe, the only V8 cars i do respect are the transam´s those are real V8 challenges, camaros i dont think they are fast i have beat V8 camaros for like 3 cars or 4 but the SS that another shit, the real thing is that VR4 and RT/TT is that we have the advantege in the all wheel drive thats what helps us in the start from there its just our turbos

Well yea, I mean for Gone in 60 seconds (remake) they just took a bunch of 67 mustangs and 68 mustangs and made em' look like the GT500, but they're still awesome cars... Fast Track... Ur dad's got a charger too??? 68 was my fav. year, but ur a lucky ass if you've got a 4 spd, I've only got a 3 speed auto ... what kinda engine u got in that thing???

Yes ALL of those cars run those times, WITH THE CORRECT DRIVER BEHIND THE WHEEL.

Your gonna tell me because Nelson could only get his car into the 11's that its only an 11 second car???? Well Matt got behind the wheel and ripped off his 10.75, so its obviously a 10 second car.

And Pearl I never said you were wrong when you said you beat a MTX SOHC. You beat the driver not the car.

And one more thing young if you wanna ban me ban me. I could care less. I came over here and started posting because there is so much newbyish info going on I thought I would help out. I could just spend my time on 3si where people actually know what they are talking about.
