Re: Progress: 2003 Peugeot 206 WRC Rally of Turkey G/H Panizzi
Do you think this one is cursed? So much bad luck on one model. Bud be tough don't give up it will only make you stronger, I have never washed the model affter decals (under running water) just wipe a bit with Q sticks and of to the clear coat. Never had a problem.

Re: Progress: 2003 Peugeot 206 WRC Rally of Turkey G/H Panizzi
I was 60/40 in favour of washing it as I have handled the shell pretty much without gloves and got some ugly stains from the micro products. Some of my aftermarket decals for the bikes has done the same and some have not. Looking in the mirror I should have seen it coming as the decals slided around pretty badly when they were applied. But as you said Sasa, if it doesn't kill you, it will only make you stronger but every mishap takes me further and further away from another car build ;-)

Commiserations Joel
But keep at it.Must say I've never heard of that happening before, how strong was the stream of water? I use a small amount of diluted woodworking glue to help decals that have lost their stick. Never tried Future, but it would be more permanent. |

Re: Progress: 2003 Peugeot 206 WRC Rally of Turkey G/H Panizzi
RallyRaider - The stream was very gentle actually, just enough to flow over the shell. But what the hell I'm re-positioning them right now and it seems to work. I've started to think if it can be my Microsol/set cans that has past their expiration date...I've used them for quite a while and perhaps they have "died" on me...what do you think?

Sorry to hear about your misshap Joel. But you seem to be on the way to a finished Pug dispite that. Just keep it up and you'll be on to the next car in no time. I know, I know you said to stick to the bikes. Hey I still have a Ducati to finish and that is going to take like forever 'cause of all the cars I wan't to build. That Future trick is quite handy, hope it works out ok for you.

I think it turned out really great. Just brushed Future on the back of the decals and smacked them in place then used a Q-tip to take away the overflow. Guess it's not that handy when it comes to larger decals though as your chance to reposition them are pretty small.
