The best way to do it is literally get into the passenger seat (on the left of the drivers seat) and then kinda slide into the drivers seat. Fairly easy once you're used to it.

Yeah - it looked like they over dramatized it for the cameras. You put your rear end on the front edge of the left passenger seat, swing your legs over the chassis rail and then slide forward and drop into the seat.

I'm sure it's easier for large people to get in when the car is fitted with the removable steering wheel.

I assume you're asking about the Ultimate Cars episode, and the owner would be Tony Smith.

Re: McLarens on tv

my problem is that in the gtr cars, i cannot reach over to pull the door shut. not a problem in the regular car though. i am 5'8" (160 cm fro the rest of the world).

and of course, carrying a passenger in the converted gtr cars is just begging for a wrongful injury lawsuit. the rollcage makes it virtually impossible for them to move without hitting their head or arms. ow ow ow

oh well, who wants passengers anyway.

Finally caught it

I was finallly able to catch the right episode of Ultimate Cars. I'm glad to see that they agreed with most of the people on this forum. We need to give ourselves a pat on the back, we had it right all along. Now what we need is a full 30 minutes or 60 of time dedicated to the F1 to thoroughly review the "WINNAH". It would be nice for someone to do a detailed analysis of the car and air that. Is anyone listening?
