Mustang weights about 3300lbs with 5-speed trans. Not sure on the Si.

Stock is 160 hp at the flywheel. I think it's about 140 on a dyno though.

So, the 2000 Si has to move 16.25lbs with each hp. While the GT has 15.34lbs per each hp. Giving the GT the advantage.

I'll give the advantage to the Mustang as well. If your Civic is as loaded as my friend's Hyundai Elantra (air filter and intake, custom header, high tension wire and race spark plugs, torsion bar, power flow and large exhaust), you still won't win against a Mustang per se. My friend is practical: he can't beat a Mistubishi Galant VR, and that Galant's stock, not modified. Maybe it will go down to driver ability--my bestfriend and I were able to pull up to a Volvo with a 1300 Honda City (1998 model). That car is much less powerful than a Civic, but it went down to driver ability, not the machine's.

You mean what my 1300 Honda City had? Well, until now it's still stock, nothing added. Maybe the Volvo's driver isn't a good one, so we were able to get alongside him. If he's a good one, we might not be able to even get close to him. Like I said, it went down to driver ability (and my bestfriend was the one driving, not me, just to clarify).

ok this is the last straw.
i got this car and their is no way in hell a civic will beat a 95 mustang GT without a shit load of mods.

im not a big mustang fan however i do own one.
and i admit they are not the quickest thing out their. but i must say no
civic can beat one!

some prelude standards can do it but not a civic. especialy if your in motion

a civics got a quick jump off the line but the buck stops their.
the 95 mustang convertable automatic! can beat the folwing cars with ease

Chrystler 300M

mazda.. millineum s

porshe 944. not the turbos or the s

as a matter of a fact i smoked a civic with mods not to long ago
and this was before i did any mods to my mustang.

I saw him trying to race a Trans AM and decided i wanted a,
pice. I admit the civic was fast. it probably had a supercharger because it was hauling ass for a civic. It even hung with me for a bit on my clime to 110
from about 70 but once i started my assult at 115 to 130+ it was all over and the TA was my objective.

this is the only civic that ever came close to me.
all others have been nothing but weak jokes.

don't belleave what you see in the movies. in stock form Mustang GTs and cobras, 92 and up corvettes, Supra's, 3000gts, 300ZX twin turbos & V8 F bodys, rule the roads for the most part. the 95 mustang is at the low end of the spectrum but it will smoke alot of 3 & 5 serise bmw's asses untill you put an M on them. ------> don't sleep on this car
its faster than most think with 215 HP but its also got 285 foot pounds of torque!
BTW the 0 to 60 in 6.7 for a manual is a lie my automatic convertable does it in about 6. so i can only speculate that the manual is good for about 5.6

Ps: i left out alot of cars because of their price
or ignorance.. and BTW 0 to 60 does not make a car
if you can't climb hard up to 130+ then your not in the same game.

for the most part when i do race on the road im going to see 130 to 140MPH, any higher and i really don't have the balls to hang in their.
"in a stock mustang anyhow" :-)

And an Si beating a GT, it happens...

Just post a recent race if you have one, and we'll discuss it from there.

Otherwise, digging-up a thread this old just to refute it, is pointless. You must feel very strongly about it to register just to respond to it, which I understand...but please, use etiquette.
