GTmike its one of the best and these people are probably judging it like its a 1/25 scale model or somthin and don't realise how hard it is to work on such a small thing

I just want to help some of the misunderstands, first off what rcmaxx is trying to say something equavalent to "I think that the Ferrari 550 is a very ugly-looking car, but I can appreciate the work that was put into engineering it." Now replace your Del Sol with Ferrari 550, and you'll get it.

Me personally, can see the work put into such a model like this. I can appreciate how many hours was spent on it. The car looks good for it's scale, I know working on the smaller bodys takes some serious effort, which is expressed with your car.

Remember, there will always people who hate & love your work, but all that really matters is what you think of your car, we're just here for support, and opinions, good or bad.

thank you turtle. That is about what I am trying to say.

I know how hard it is to modify these things, and I know that you put work into it...........but it still looks bad. not that you did a bad job, its just that these things look bad when modified. You would be lying to me to say that if you had a machine to make that car into a actual drivable car that you'd want to drive it because it looks like crap.

If you've never seen them before, these two Ferraris (the Testa Rossa being a work in progress) are both masterpieces built by Lotus-man. These kits are more often than not either resin or cast white metal. And they are 1:43rd scale. 1:43rd is the international hobbyists/collectors scale, and people have been building serious models in it for longer than you or I have been alive.

As someone who has built a Tameo Ferrari F2000, I can say that its fold-up photo-etched suspension and completely photoetched front and rear wings (that you have to use supplied bucks to contour accurately) made it incredibly difficult and I can say that the results were not perfect.

But as Lotus-Man proves, it's entirely possible to take a 4inch long model and make it absolutely lovely.

Now, your Del Sol is very rough. It's plainly visible where all of the cuts were made, and how they were rejoined. The paint has no shine to it, and is thick & orange-peeled. These are evidence of rushing a model no matter what the scale. I agree, it takes nerve to try and work on a scale of that size. But blaming the crappy kit is no excuse for not putting forth the effort on fundamental basics of the car's appearance. Wet sanding, priming, filling, filing, and priming are more crucial than taking a few dozen mm out of a diecast body.

No, I am not impressed with this Del Sol. Not because I cannot appreciate the ideas or effort put into the major modifications, but because I feel that the core modeling fundamentals were overlooked.

Okay, let's remember that this is a public forum ; the language and the way opinions are being presented are quite embarrassing. Please try to act you have a little home training; if you don't have any or at least know how to act like it, maybe you should ask your parents for some. If anyone would like to discuss the matter, PM me. I would like to thank those that have clarified and tried to rectify the situation. This is not a high school cafeteria; don't treat it like one. Thank you.
