Defenitely 100% agree with you!!!!!

There isn't really anything which can do so close of racing car than GTR McLaren, the LM is also very VERY close!
It just simply is......... Stunning looking and sounding car.

Which one you would take? If I try my luck with #13R; you go buy that #05R. Deal?!

LOL! Isn't 13R sold? It doesn't exist on the Kidston website anymore. That is actually the exact one I wanted btw... 16R in the Fina is nice as well, but the Lark car does it for me. I don't know what it is, but the tobacco livery cars look the best...Davidoff, Lark, Marlboro, etc. I don't even smoke, lol.

I was told that #13R did not sell. It may still be available, but you are correct that Kidston is no longer actively offering it.

Re: Massive McLaren F1 gathering at the McLaren Technology Centre

Looking at the F1 line up by the duck pond, I was suprised that there are six road cars and only two GTR,s that I have not seen yet. That list, if I,m lucky will shorten during this summer . I can count another "possible" five UK based GTR,s missing from that line up and I,m sure there are some road F1,s that are also not shown, over to you RON . One in particular, a certain silver HDF!!

In a way I,m glad I was not there , as it would have answered some intriguing questions in one foul swoop!! Which would have certainly blunted our search for these details, so the hunt goes on .

Re: Massive McLaren F1 gathering at the McLaren Technology Centre

I feel just the opposite - the level of serenity that would have entered my life by being able to go one by one down that line peering through the windsheilds of about 4 of them - well, it is probably indescribable.

You really think that the third silver HDF Kitted F1 is a UK car? Well that's a good thing I guess - I had suspected it was hidden in some far off land.

There are other road F1,s tucked away, just ask RON.

Of all the cars in that setting, I've only seen just one of them in person and that would be #20R.

But I promise I could have kept my composure and not been the least bit disruptive.

Any idea on what the asking price is/was? I vaguely remember it going for around 1 million Euros in Australia back about 4 or so years ago...spares included I think.

What bugs me, is that they (McLaren) did not invite a few select individuals such as your goodself. (not sure if Doug Nye was even present) You, as a world renowned F1 historian, who has put a lot of your own personal time (unpaid) into keeping the F1 in the public eye so to speak, "hell" you have also been instrumental in the sale/movement of some F1,s. The knock on from this to McLaren, is extra servicing/after sales work that has amounted to some form of increased turnover to them. Come on McLaren, give respect where it is due, we all know that you read this forum, some kind of acknowledgement would not go amiss .

Re: Massive McLaren F1 gathering at the McLaren Technology Centre

I appreciate some of the things you have said - I even agree with it to a point, but I must say that sort of invitation is not something I'd ever expect to receive.

I understand just as much why that sort of thing might never come the way of any of us, and that's okay. I'm undeterred by any "snub" factor, not that I perceive it that way.

Sure would be nice to be there on the inside at least once though.

Going back to this photo - and admittedly I might be over thinking this - but #003 is the one car there that is not sporting a front license plate. Perhaps it was "just visiting" and is still residing on my side of the pond?

If I ever have a chance to do a study comparing two situations that are identical with and without a single variable, I would do the affect of McLaren F1 prices with and without Erik. I wonder how much of an effect you have had on the increasing prices of F1s...

Re: Massive McLaren F1 gathering at the McLaren Technology Centre

Eh eh Patrick,

What an event, once in a lifetime for those who were there. I hope Mister Bridger will post there his impressions.

Any news on mysterious chassis ?
Do you think it's possible to order a MP4-12C directly at the factory and be able to visit Genesis ?

Phil

Poses a more interesting question, has Mr bridger aquired another F1 since the sale of 16R?
