Hmmm......Jay,
I'm not sure. Each application for the manifold is different, but the turbos are pretty much for any application. The manifold has several inticate parts to it and I'm not sure if the RTV mold can capture certain details without leaving bubbles or missing pieces. The turbo can be molded easily though. Gotta talk to someone more experienced in making small molds for model car parts. This is the only turbo system that I have ever scratchbuilt completely. It wasn't too bad, but you got me Jay. I don't know what would be easier. Sorry. -Walter |

While not very show but did you think of tan or a light tan interoir?I hate tan interoir in a real car but it goes really good with that color blue.
That or Black and blue wouldnt be to bad.Maybe red carpet, front seats (from a Lancer model) black leather back seats, dashboard etc... Dont go Yellow and black sounds nasty, but heck it might suprise me. Good luck. Could you nbuild another and send it to me?I wont use it ![]() Email me. Thanks

black/blue is cool... i was thinking maybe white/green or grey/green but that would be a hassle since the seats are already black... black/blue is probably your best bet from this point
cheers |

More images.
First one is the intercooler being constructed of CA , tubing, and spot putty form Bondo. The second is the Blowoff valve(-no it doesn't belong there) on top of the Carbon Fiber Decaled hood. The blowoff valve is a bit blurry. The third is the engine with intake plumbing with Carbon/ Kevlar decal and turbo setup primered. There are spark plug wires, fuel rail, radiator cap, throttle linkage in the engine bay now. I don't think you can see the radiator cap though-need to paint silver. The engine bay is 90% done in the photo. The last picture is the intercooler primered and test fitted into front end. 1: ![]() 2: ![]() ![]() 3: ![]() 4:Nice Smile Its wearing braces ![]() ![]() |

SATIN black, with some blue stuff(blue armrest, shifter, seat trimming), depends what kinda blue it is (maybe a teal would look good).

Hey guys, I'm back. I haven't posted in awhile, but the car is not done yet. I've been checking out the board every so often, but not posting. I've been looking for work with no luck because I'm going through a career change.
Now for the questions. Fullbloodchop: I got your e-mail. The parts for the turbo are 90% built from styrene tubing in assorted sizes. The other pieces were made from styrene sheets. I don't have a build up of the components. Takes too much time to keep updating. The best I can do is just look at the detail pics that I posted previously. Use your imagination and creativity. Its not that hard. If I remember right, I think the whole turbo system took about 3 hours to make. Including the intercooler. They're just plastic tubes that are cut to size, glued together and with a little heat they'll bend. Takes practice though. Try cutting pieces off the disposed parts trees and heating them to learn how the styrene reacts to heat and how much heat to apply. BTW-these tips are for making the snail portion of the turbo body. Oh, I forgot to mention the CA glue, CA accelerator, Gunze's thick primer in a bottle, and Bondo's red spot putty to help in shaping some curves and as filler. |
