If it was me i wouldn't clear coat it. I have never done any of more models in clear. Spend a bit of time on the paint/compound/polish and you will end up with a excellent result.

Wow looking good so far. I won't bother with a clear coat since you're using Tamiya paint. It also looks nice a smooth in the pics, doesn't look like you'll need much work to get a good shine out of it.

thanks, i checked on my polish today and they said that the suppliers didn't have any tamiya polish in store at the moment. but he showed me some other stuff that is basically the same, applied with a soft cloth and smoothes out the paint etc. i guess i'll go with that for now.

IMO, going by the last 2 pics, i'd just leave it to harden up and just polish it.
Paint looks really good 10/10

Remember to leave it to harden for a week!
I have my Porsche under the light in cabinet, hoping the heat will let it cure faster!

so i leave it to harden before i polish it? i picked up the polish today and it is made by the treatment. never heard of it before but i hope it works. i also ordered some gun metal paint for my R32. now i have to finish off the masking job on the windows.

And polish it before doing the window rubbers, otherwise you rub it off again!
