dood, no credit cards? that just makes buying stuff online a chore. i have a credit card for one thing, and thats to buy stuff on ebay and elsewhere online. dont use it for anything else, and whenever i make a purchase i pay it off in two payments, that way i get a little credit to my name AND save most of the interest raping.
and as far as loans go, theres really no way a mechanic these days could survive without financing something in the way of tools. cars are too advanced and require too many tools these days to just walk into sears and buy a 200 piece craftsman set and try to do everything you need to do. theres way too many specialty tools, and i admit that i did have to take a 4K loan for that. but i have the tools i need, and its a no interest loan (from my rich granny), so i will be able to pay her back in a year. getting a good paycheck in the automotive industry requires you to either break yourself by not having the tools you need and by working yourself to death, or by playing it smart and getting the right tools for the job and knowing when to shut down the shop for the evening. remember that as long as you manage your shit, you can actually gain something from loans and credit cards. not everyone can pay in cash for everything they want, and sometimes its even easier when you dont.

hmmm, had a white 88 hatch, white, black tint, black stripe on sides, black rota slipstreams, slow D15, now it's wrecked. Now I have a 91 Si with a sohc vtec, same wheels, sprint lowering springs, stock exhaust, no tint, needs paint, 3 different colors, etc. Had a 73 bug before the hatches. Oh yeah, if you were with Jayce Saturday night, I am the one who whipped his ass!!! haha.
