Re: Honda S800 Racing - Tamiya 1/24
Painting process has been started. Two layers already airbrushed.
While body has been in drybooth I was tempted to checkout reference pictures. Wrong. I realized that I have forgot to cut off a part of body's rear (where bumper has been mounted in road version). Anyway, I am going to cut that thing off painted body. Not eager to respray the whole thing again. |

Rear part cut off - picture shows how I did it.
![]() I have also airbrushed third layer of color and I think that it is enough. Additionally I have closed original gas filler (red arrow) and drilled in new place (blue arrow) according to reference pictures I have |

Re: Honda S800 Racing - Tamiya 1/24
Decals almost done. I would suggest to check decals for those who are planning to build this model. In my case some of them, especially transparent parts, were cracked. I managed to lay them down quite well gaining few more grey hairs...

Re: Honda S800 Racing - Tamiya 1/24
All of the body decals are on. As you can see the white background for the bonnet number is a bit transparent. I am in between - paint it white and complicate the whole painting process or give it up and let it as it is

Maciek, I have some white decal paper I can let you have if you want to add a second layer of white decal paper?

Re: Honda S800 Racing - Tamiya 1/24
I have added additional white decal - it helped a bit. While cutting decal I realized that I have remedy for cracking decals. First use and success! It really works! I used regular brush to paint, waited 15 minutes and put cracked-painted decal as usual. It has settled down perfectly. However careful painting or trimming is recommended.

The detail you have put into this build is impressive, but I am more impressed by how clean you have executed everything. Great work!
