the KA is a good engine, its just that its a truck engine, and it takes more tuning on a KA to make that kind of power when compared to a SR or RB, so youll probibly spend more on tuning it and turning up the power than you would spend by doing a SR swap and going from there. But if your going for "truly stupid power levels" then the only engines that could fit relatively easily are the VQ and RB, of wich the RB is stronger simply because it has 4 main bearings instead of the 7 found on the RB, this makes it easier to make power because your not constantly breaking your bottom end.

the KA "truck" engines are assembled in Mexico.

Our KA engines are built in Japan.

The KA engines were used for racing before they were used in trucks. They only use them in trucks because of their torquey nature.
That means Nissan put sports car engines in trucks...

If mike was here he would have flamed you to death for saying that.

you can get 250hp out of a KA24DE for about 2/3 the price of an SR even if you did the swap yourself

it just all depends on if you like having power in your engine or if you like making your engine powerful, and it also depends on how deep your pockets are

Question

Ok what would be my best shot here for a for Drag Motor Racing in a straight line.
CA18DET or Redtop SR20DET or stick with KA & turbo it. I knoe a lil bit about the SR but pretty new to the CA. If there any BIG difference between the SR's from the S13-S15??

I got it and it rules. I have the unlimited usage for a month so if you want to give me your VIN number I'll run it for you. It expires on the Aug 14th.

at 9 psi the ka engines have much more power then the SR20DET engine at 9psi and is a hell of alot less expensive then getting an instaling a RB series engine. and even though the ka engines are very reliable if something does go wrong your not gonna have problem finding parts. however the RB series engine, if something goes wrong where are you gonna get parts from? Well i think swapping engines to a RB series is a huge waste of time if your not going for over 400hp. Its not all that hard to get over 300 with your KA. Remember how light the car is, 260hp is actually pretty fast in a car that light. And whats so bad about it being a truck engine, that means more torque, more get-up and go. And just because its used in trucks dosent mean its hard to tune.
