i got the black stuff off my valve cover with automotive grade paint stripper (let it sit for 10 mins) then I sanded the inperfections off the cover, Cleaned it with simple Green and baked it in the oven for 10 mins at 250deg to dry it completely. once completely dry ( and still hot) i sprayed the hi temp Primer on it... it dried as it hit the cover and made a nice smooth coat. then I use Hi temp Colour paint and put 3 thin layers at 1 hour intervals.

turned out great and only took me bout 1 hour of actual work with it spread out over 4 hours.

The entire engine? About another 2/4 months I am guestimating... I dont like to rush things, and anything worth doing is worth taking the Time to do it right, ESPECIALY engines, ESPECIALY honda engines... They are so damn annoying if they arent built right the first ime, got to take everything appart to get to X and fix it.

Well I just put the first coat on the valve cover and let me just say its looking SWEEET! I will now be offering valve cover services, sand blast and "Hot tank" (Hot tank is basicaly boiling the cover in my giant presure cooker to remove ALL sand particles, this works verry well) This service will completly clean all the stock paint off of the cover and you will get it back looking like the pic on the first page $75.00 pluss shiping. For $100.00 + pluss shiping I will clean tank and paint it as well, you must provide additional funds for specified paint/powder coating. If you are interested please email me @ [email protected] Title of email should be VALVE COVER. Ty

Why? Its an assload of work, most people dont have the tools that i have at my disopsal, and it takes for fucking ever... I used 4 layers of primer on the timing belt cover and 5 layers of paint, note there is not ONE run in the entire paint job... The valve cover just got its 3rd coat, I make sure to put on a verry light amount each time so there are NO runs.
A new valve cover will run you (Aftermarket) around $200 + , you may be able to find one for like $150 or so thats a knockoff.
If you pay me to do it you will have something orriginal, pluss I can match you exact car color (if you figure out what it is, you would also have to pay for the paint) Shit, a hot tank alone will cost you $50, I dont sopose you have a presure cooker pot thats bigger than a dohc valve cover?
I think my price is verry reasonable actualy

Despite being overjoyed with my new flywheel, I am now PISSED! I just went out and looked at my valve cover, it WAS buitifull! All nice and clean and not a single run, then I look and I can see in the "CO." of honda motor co. that there is no paint in the bottom of the O, so I whip out my can and give the entire thing another shot making sure to hit the bottom of the O... Bout 45 seconds later my dad walks in and I say "Check out my valve cover, it looks bitchen" He says "Actauly it looks like shit..." Im like huh? I go over and look at it noting there is no sarcasm in his voice and sure as all hell the 3rd coat of paint for some reason descided to curl all the paint under it Now it looks like I am going to have to sand it with some fine sand paper and repaint the whole bitch! Anyone know why this happened?

Here is the WHOLE timing belt cover.

Here is a pic of the vlave cover with the timing belt cover, and yes... I did hand polish the entire head, intake manifold, and top half of the header

I ordered the adjustable cam gears from japan today, so they should be here in a week or two... Right about the time my block is finished I hope
