Nice I always love to see the Nissan's! I would have to agree, it is a very expensive hobby! I just wanted to tell you that is a beautiful piece of art work!

Holy shit!! You've got that motor in a 200SX?!?!?! I hope I never meet you at the drag strip!!!

What's your best ET?? I would think that's a low 10s to high 9-second car.. unless you've got traction issues

Well its my daily driver I drive it to work and arround town. I have only ran it once about a 9 moths ago and I spun all the way thru the lights on some pritty small Slicks for N/A use. at the time I was only puting down about 401 WHP I ran 12.2 @ 124 MPH. I got really bad traction problems as you mentioned and the car is fully loaded inside. so its still pritty heavy. 2550 LBS give or take a bit.

That still rocks. Bigger slicks, a limited slip diff, lose AC and powersteering (get your weight to about 2,200 – that’s with fuel and driver), and make sure your practice your launches, and you should have a low 10’s car. I think you could be high 9’s if you get your curb weight below a ton, but that would probably take hard core weight reduction. Anyway, very nice!!

All depends on how hard core you are But I wouldn’t drop the AC either (and I live in CT, a relative icebox when compared with Florida and most parts of California!).

Besides, once you get into the 9’s, your car is supposed to have an integrated rollcage and self-activated fire extinguishing system. You’re no longer just a fast street car.

I will probably be removing the AC when I get a car. Do you have NOS?? If not, then it is doubly amazing.

jesus

12000 dollars in an engine and your still in the 12's.
that's sick man. i was in the 12's when i bought my car, and now im 7000 dollars faster than that!

and to the 16 year old who wants the 11 second talon, good luck.
first of all, that stroker kit is not needed to run 11's, but if you did need it that kit is worth more than the 7000 dollar budget that you have. its like 4000 bucks just for the kit, than you gotta put it together!
and also, you can run 11's with the stock engine, you need better injectors, fuel pump, etc.
and you will quickly figure out that your shortblock is not the weakest link. if you don't learn how to launch that car softly as possible against the driveline you'll blow the diff's out of it at about 300 hp. the cv axles let loose with hard shifts at about 350 hp, and your gearbox will be throwing gears out the bellhousing at 375. so, your looking at putting about as much money into the driveline and suspension as you do in the engine.
and if you don't believe me, i'll scan the bill for the new front diff that i blew out after my talon's first low 12 second run.

jesus man, for that kind of money why didnt u get a ferrari 360 or something? i could never, ever justify spending that much on a mustang.

and u say "pretty easy to see" well im looking at the picture and i definately dont see where that much money went. from the looks, its a $40,000 car at most, it just looks like any regular mustang, except wheels, a body kit and funny opening doors. it doesnt even look like it has the cobra hood, is it a cobra or a gt? where did the rest of the money go?

Why didn't I get a Ferrari (Never ever say ferrari again with the "F" UNcapitalized, that's rude for the one of the best made cars ever!) 360? Cuz this $$ was spent over time, not just in a mid-20's crisis. You know?

You don't see where that much money went? Do you know how much things cost now-a-days? Funny doors > what you don't like Diablo doors? < Are those funny too? It's a Cobra man, it's just a Carbon Fiber Hood.
