well, the Tamiya Ferrari F60 say they'll be the 2.4L V8 under the cowl, along w/ photo-etching but we'll see how "detailed" and accurate the engine is... right??

Re: Aoshima Surprises!

Overall, looks good. but some details are inaccurate. I don't think they nailed down the right grill shape, and I'm a little disappointed with the interior. The dashboard is inaccurate. For example, the instrument cluster is not set that far up the dash, and the door panels do not seamlessly integrate with the dash as they should. Plus, the center console and dash are one piece on the 1:1 car. I'll probably end up cutting out the center console and joining it with the dash before installation.

Probably because Aoshima did the regular versions? LOL
I wouldn't doubt someone is working on a trans-kit of the Black editions. Although Aoshima could possibly add it in later on. Who knows?

I hope Aoshima does it. No need for Fujimi (they need to be working on a 458 Italia), and I'm sure some of the Asian aftermarket companies are slobbering over their keyboards right now developing ridiculously overpriced Black Edition transkits of questionable resin design & quality & way too many photoetch frets. With the advent of Model Factory Hiro style kits, now we get the "Barrett Jackson" effect on imported transkits. I'd love a Black Edition SL, but the though of shelling out $150..$200... or more for an aftermarket transkit? Yeah, right

I'm always wondering if any aftermarket company have already mentioned any etch set for this SL kit?

Tanks guys!

Yes, windowmask is included..
I believe Aoshima are also doing an etch set later....

Received mine yesterday after getting delayed too often...must have been popular right off the bat, hey...
Overall first impressions are good....big box, compared to most 1/24 kits...
The molded parts all look good, the motor appears a little basic, but will detail up nicely...most wont be visible once installed in any case.

One downside I have noticed is tyres.... they look cheap....and are a loose fit on the rims. Some good quality Fujimi or Aoshima rubber tyres will fix that.
Not too sure about the included coil springs either.....probably just build it in a nice lowered stance..
