Got my copy today, nice job. Makes me want to get a DET. How does it spool with the JWT flywheel? Is it nice?

The flywheel, pulleys, Extrude Hone, and Swain coatings really work well. Off boost the car feels very much like a NA engine (where usually on a DET it feels a bit sluggish off-boost). It spools early and smoothly. You cannot really feel the boost come on, it's that smooth. When you hit about 3k rpm, it really takes off, but you can definitely feel the boost lower. You just cannot feel when it starts building. I do not have a boost gauge (running stock boost) so I don't even know where it starts building, but it's pretty low.

The mods I did are not inexpensive. A bigger turbo will make more power for sure. But, what I did makes the car much smoother and easier to drive.

Thanks so much. It's a labor of love for sure. It's certainly not for everyone since it takes so much longer to complete a project when you have to not only stop to shoot photos, but to get publication quality photos. I have more than half my time invested in photography.

I'm glad you liked it. Hopefully I can contribute more in the future.

Sounds like a great article. Unfortunately its not available in NZ. This might be a bit of a long shot, but is anyone willing to scan the article for all of us non USions! (Fancy word for Americans - just made it up, quite impressed actually!). Yeh, so anyone keen. It would be greatly appreciated!
