Re: WIP: 1/20 Jordan EJ10

heres an update...

as you can see Mr Hobby leaves a very matt finish, I will give this another 48 hours and then I will start clear coating. I added the little HP logos on the base to double check the colours are the same even with the decal placed on top of the black which it is thankfully.

As per Bill's build I have sprayed the inner sidepods yellow too as they look much better that way.

No particular Grand Prix for this one although I have decided to build the Jarno Trulli No. 6 car. I guess it would be one of the early season races as this definately wasnt going to be a modified kit as its my first full resin build.

Re: WIP: 1/20 Jordan EJ10

end plates...

I have used for the first time Hiroboy's, 2 part clear - all I can say is this is very promising stuff too, seems to have given me a nice finish straight away, these only had one mist coat and one wet coat!

I think with the clear coat it has toned down the colour some what.I thought it would.Once all the decals are on it will look perfect.

Impressive work.

The wing endplates look great. I almost can't wait to see the whole car with all the decals...

This is going to be beautiful !

Re: WIP: 1/20 Jordan EJ10

update...

rear suspension and transmission (well, a simple square block of resin actually) assembled and added to the chassis. The suspension was all sprayed semi gloss black, the drive shaft comes in very nice copper so is left unpainted which gives a nice contrast.

this is all the detail you get under the shell, I dont like this but nothing I can do about it with this type of kit.

test fit of the rear wing, all elements went together surprisingly well, I have a couple of small elements to add to the rear bottom section and also the back light. All centre sections covered with Crazy Modeler C/F decal. Unfortunately, I have made an error here, the insides of the endplates were yellow on the actual car and I didnt realise until I had the whole thing assembled... oh well!
Bill seems to have made the same boo boo in his build too so I'm in good company :-)

blatant attempt in the two pics above to show how good the 2 part clear from Hiroboy is, it has given me an excellent finish with very little effort as mentioned before, ie. one mist coat and then a wet one, congratulations Steve this is an excellent product!

Finally, a poor picture sorry but here are the exhaust outlets, I have used some bare metal foil for the hear protection and have also added to some staining with some black/dark grey/brown colours, the pic is poor though.

these are the exhaust end piece I have made from some Alu tubing (there was none whatsoever included in the kit... tut tut!

decals next and then front suspension... nearly there!

thanks for following as always.

Keep up the good work.
