Fantastic job Dave. I'm quite impressed by your interiors: carbonized "pool" and trims are really to die for. Awesome

I never bought a carrera GT but like Mike said you push me to buy one.

Great work Dave!! That is super clean detail there!
If you were paid commission for the models you sold, you'd be a rich man from me alone!

Re: Yep! Another Carrera GT

How did you go about the engine cover mesh? How was it to work with? I have read mixed opinions about this.

Did you leave the kit clear part in place?

Thanks

Re: Yep! Another Carrera GT

clean work for sure!

But, if you allow a word of criticism, the carbon decals are not very realistic looking in my opinion. They look too silvery, while in reality the carbon weaving is only visible in bright light, and still it is very dark. All this flashy carbon looks more like a popular building style to me than an accurate representation.

I love the color, it looks very rich and suits the exotic character of the car very well. But it looks like you did not polish it, a few spots look a bit bumpy...

Anyway, thanks a lot for sharing your very nice work! (I wish I had so much time to dedicate to model building...)

I am again impressed with your excellent building skills! That chassis is a complete build unto itself!

Klutz,
I did not use the Brass Screen. I tried to attempt it but it simply did not look clean enough for me. I opted to use the Clear pieces with the decals instead.

Thanks again guys.....This car is in the completed section here....

Hmmm..... I find your criticism a bit disturbing... When I take my pictures I tend to adjust the Aperature to +7 to "Brighten up" the photograph so all details can be seen. The CF work is alot darker in person than in the photos. Its not as Flashy as you so put it. The paint WAS polished and is extremely smooth. Funny how you are the only one criticizing it. I can take CONSTRUCTIVE Criticism very well.... But yours is not CONTRUCTIVE in MY OPINION. It baffles me when newbie's come on AF only to knock down peoples work. I searched your name to see if there was any WIP or completed projects of yours I could view to see if you could back up your so called constructive criticism.. I was not suprised to find NONE....and you have been a newbie since 2003? Lets see you post your work and then you can knock me down if you feel the need to do so again... or maybe I can return the favor? Maybe if you stop knocking people's work you might have that time that you wish you had to build something......

Re: Yep! Another Carrera GT

Awesome as usual Dave!

The brass screen is tough with that kit. I did not even attempt it fearing it would be a big mess.

Your ability to paint those shocks and springs like that is beyond me. The same on your FXX... nice.

When we met in Atlanta you said you were going to do this kit with a trans kit of some kind. What happened to that? That would be awesome with your talents.

When Geronimo's Gemballa kit is released, let's both get one and have a little challenge! What do you say? Get Clay in on it? I wouldn't mind third place to you two!!!
Who else wants in?

What do you think?
Awesome work!
Andy
