Re: Corvette Summer Stingray in 1/25 scale

OK, yes, fine.
I'll STFU.
From now on, if I ever see anything on anyone's builds that might need a bit of fixing before they prime and paint or cast it, I'll keep it to myself and just chuckle to myself when they come back later and mention how it isn't quite right but it's too late to fix it.

Re: Corvette Summer Stingray in 1/25 scale

No matter what, someone will find something somone else says offensive. It all depends on your own mood when you read it. When I read it, it did sound a bit harsh, or rather, direct and to the point, with no "softening agents" so to speak.

Now that all that blah blah blah is over with....build that dang vette! haha

I think re-doing the front end was a smart move. Drunk monkey is correct, in saying the vents in the hood scoop are a bit out of shape from one another, but I wouldn't have really noticed had someone else not pointed it out. It still looks good.

Re: Corvette Summer Stingray in 1/25 scale

First I needed to get the A160 out the way now I'm back on the vette. I have to come up with away to have the hood flip up and make it so I can make a ez mold of it. Once that part is done I will put on the putty an sand then make the mold of the body, hood. All the thing's that I do I will post the pix of.

Talking Summer Stingray in 1/25 scale in Final Stage

Sorry it has taking so long to get back to you all but I'm closing in on the end.
So far I went to doing my putty work I started out with Testors White putty to fill mager gap's, thin I went back over it with the same putty to fill in the low spot's an dip's, but I did not get that smooth feel that I needed so I have gone over the white putty with Testors Red putty to fill in the realy small dip's & crack's it smooths out better. I went back an put in the (Windshield brace) that's what I call it. the white plastic rod was use is to push the body a-part (Once I removed it the first time to do body work the hood would not fit properly. Now that's it's back in the hood fit's just right. As for the last sanding I have to do you see the image here. Once I get it smooth, I then will do a mold of the hood first. I have a guy here that want's the hood scoop for a truck he's work on.
Well with out further adieu here are the latest image's of my work.
(Oh yes sins AF dosen't like you to do back to back post's I had to start a new thread.

I know some of you are going to say I should use some othere type of putty like Tamiya or something. I have not used that yet but I will start trying it in the Future. As for this project the stuff I have used here is working ok for now.

Re: Corvette Summer Stingray in 1/25 scale

Ok you guys & girls here's a up date. I not have the frount windscreen brace done. I "GOOFED" up on one part of the build the rear gass door I filled it in. an yesterday I was looking at the move and saw that the door on the gold one as well as the red one was still there.

So I had to go back a scrape out the lines. Now that I have done that I think doing it make's the lines around the gass door look better than before.

An as you can see on the gold one the door is stock.

I know some of you my be thinking, what about the checkerd flag emblem on the gass door I'm going to use MCG photo-etch set for that on the gold one.

An here's some thing I found out, (like one of you pointed out) The move car was build to look like a kid in high school built it an some of you said that some of my stuff was way off LOL well the nose of the real car was off.

so now that my nose is just right. On to the hood vint's, I fix one of them and It was not the one's some of you thought it was; well any way the one I fixed made all the othere's fall in line.

Now on to the rear tail light the Logo Sting Ray is not like the original '69 Sting Ray it's custom like a kid did it.

I'm going to put on some Testor gray primer #4630 just be for I mold the two body parts.

This is coming along great! I'm really enjoying this build, good work, silly car but kitschy enough to be cool anyway!

Re: Corvette Summer Stingray in 1/25 scale

That is one impressive engine you made there. I really like all the brackets and lines. The hood with all those vents and angles and edges looks really daunting but very interesting, you must have a lot of patience. Looking forward to seeing it with paint on it. Althou I have known about this movie for years I havent seen it yet. It sure is such an interesting model that I might just have to watch the movie now.

Re: Corvette Summer Stingray in 1/25 scale

I have to admit there are a ton of talented builders here, but this is completely bad ass to me! I am so glad that you have made this build. Like I mentioned before, I am so into this movie/car. I completely bow to this build as it is awesome. You still gonna cast it?

Now, just build a scale Mark Hamill, Kim Milford and Annie Potts then you are done. Wait, you gotta build the Stang in it as well. Then set up the final showdown in the desert with the broken down Vegas road. I think I need to watch this movie again asap.

Re: Corvette Summer Stingray in 1/25 scale

As for the trans am a lot of people tell me to do that car to. Here's a list of the cars I'm going to do after this one is done.
1. The Move car itself The Red Corvette Summer (Stingray)
2. The Stolen Stingray in Gold color
3. The Vanessa Love Van! (Chevy Van)
4. The "It's a Datsun" Datsun 280 ZX colored like the red vette.
5. The Black Phatom Trans Am.

I'm not going to do the teacher's Suburban Truck color (Tow tone Light brown/Dark brown) I think the car's I listed are the top car's from the move. what do you all think?

If any of you that want to get your hand's on one of my Stingray Resin kit's. Please E-mail me So I can how many body cast's I need to make. Now I know about the guy from Australia his on the top of my Export list. But as for the US I need to hear some thing from all of you. But I still have some E-mail's from some of you on here. Once I get the first mold's done I will post the resin copy's for you to look at. Now I have to ask you the one's that want the kit? Do you want the full kit that's the 2 body parts seats side pipe's Head lights & tail lights. stuff like that or to you just want the body? That's the hood an rear body.
Let me know just what your looking for. in an E-Mail.

Re: Corvette Summer Stingray in 1/25 scale

Hello all an "Happy new year" Well I'm now working on the mold's, I know what some of you are thinking what is taking so long. I have a lot of projets that I'm working on now that's what.
Well the firts body part (Hood) molde is in progress and pix.
1. In this pic I see that I needed to add more rubber to the mold.

Once that was done I let dry over night.

Now it's time to put on the Rubber to Rubber mold release. ( you can get it in a full kit or get in by it self. (The one that comes in the kit is on the left)-(The one on the Right you get off the store self).

As this is my first Body mold, Now I see why resin model's cost so much. It takes a lot of rubber to make the molds'; well once that is dry I will put on the sec. layer then i will start to make the hood's from that mold. Then I will do the body next.
