I've bought cases of Yuengling in Virginia before... but it's not nearly as cheap as it is in PA.

Maybe, but you can't go to Giant and pick up a case in PA, I can here

Now wifey can't claim that beer isn't part of the grocery shopping.

And as for the retarded girl from SC, at least she mentioned South Africa twice

As a citizen of a mapless nation, I insist on telling the Saffies to STFU!

P.S. - Everyone knows the moon is made of cheese... so we couldn't possibly have landed on it because then all the cheese would have melted. Could you imagine the number of nacho chips we would need to clean up THAT mess?

Better yet, let's put you in the Steeler's locker room for the pre and post game, then they will ask to be sent to the moon.

Because its really f'in bright on the sunny side of the moon, so the cameras..which used film.. had very short shutter times. Not nearly enough to pick up the stars. If you were convinced by that stupid theory, i have a bridge to sell you...

...and during the 200,000+ miles between earth's atmosphere and the moon?

Like this shot? same deal.

Srsly. If you don't believe me, take a camera with some 200 speed film, and try to take a picture of the starts on a dark night. See how long the shutter has to stay open. If theres ANYTHING bright in the shot (such as the moon) it would be completely washed out.

Re: the moon

I understand and believe your explanation when there is interference of another light source within the frame. But it seems to me (and many other conspiracy theorists) that during the vast expanse between the earth's atmosphere and the surface of the moon there should have been available a shot from the space shuttle that would provide a shot of the unfiltered light from distant stars without having either the earth or moon in the frame. Not only should such a shot have been available, but so breathtaking to the astronauts who were witnessing it that they would have been compelled to capture it on film.

Perhaps, but that's the weakest 'evidence' i've EVER heard. The fact that they didnt take a shot or one is not available has absolutley no bearing on if they went or not in the first place.

Re: the moon

I didn't say it was hardcore evidence that they didn't go. I'm saying its one of the many questionable inconsistencies surrounding the event that leads me to believe it never really happened. If you'll look back at my previous posts, I included a link to sites outlining the dozens of other issues that have been questioned about the supposed moon landing.

Good idea... give links... because EVERYTHING you read on the nets is the truth.

Just playing devil's advocate my friend.

Besides, can't everyone get a piece of cheese from that thing in the night sky? Why can't we all just get along? Jeez!

If you think they had the technology to fake that in the late 60's then you're truly stupid. Not to mention Area 51 didn't exist back then. Besides, you're going to believe something from Fox News? If so, then you're even dumber than I could imagine.

To answer the original question. I guess a good reason is the fact that the moon used to be a part of the Earth during the early stages of Earth's development. There are elements on the moon that aren't found on Earth. I suppose we could learn more about the Earth by studying the moon. It also helps that the moon is geologically inactive. There are more interesting things to study in space in my opinion.

Re: the moon

Funny reading some of this thread. My Uncle is Eugene Cernan on my fathers side the 11th person to walk on the moon during the last Apollo mission. Don't insist that any landings were fake thats just ignorant.
