i have the gt-spec on my normal ka engine, and it is about 1/2 as loud as i expected. it is very deep and it seems like it would project kinda far but it really is not loud at all. like i can still easily hear conversations on the phone. but yeah for whatever reason it sounds good and no my car is not slower its faster. it seems people are just guessing about "oh yeah thats way too big you will lose backpressure it will slow you down"... well i can tell you it doesnt. so bottom line, gt spec is about 50 times better than people will tell you. Some backpressure is not good for overall power. No backpressure is optimal. An exhaust that flows more air is going to give you more power. Maybe not in the low end, but who races in the low end? Its not a diesel. And my N1 was pretty loud so I can imagine a GT spec. Do you have a silencer? My N1 sounded like ten times better with a silencer and didn't lose any power at all. Not dyno proven, but it felt just as fast as before.

the gt spec is quieter than the n1. n1 is basically all straight pipe, and the gt spec has a huge middle resonator in it and the muffler is designed to be quieter.

huh that explains it. cuz seriously even with no silencer it really isnt that loud. and i had the silencer in at one point but it seemed slower to me. not really a huge difference, just maybe a little less responsive? not really sure how to describe it, but it did seem a little slower. but yeah no silencer now. my friends civic with a greddy evo exhaust is like 20 times louder.

Every car responds a little different. I think mine was really loud because I had IHE with no cat.lol

I think it's great that production cars have emission, I think they should be tight, but I'm still taking my shit off if it gives me more power. (They should keep putting out the RB26 and SR20 just lower performance to comply with emssions, but when you get the car, reprogram the ECU.
