Re: Supercar of the 90's - Making of Ferrari F50

Time for another update folks.
I have purchased Acu-Stion shock sets for this build, but the shocks themselves in the set are designed for the rear suspension ONLY! Bummer! I had to scratchbuild the front shocks! Some aluminum tubing, few plastic pieces, some black wire, a cut finger and an hour later I had this:

- first is a kit part, then parts that I made to assemble front shocks, and then completed assembly. Everything looks great, but here comes the CRAZY part - after I have built this, I realized that this will not be visible AT ALL on a completed model. Hmmm, ok. :-)

Did the same with rear shocks, only now I used Acu-Stion shocks, but added few pieces here and there:

Interior was decalled with kevlar and clearcoated:

then it was masked and rear firewall was sprayed with same mixture like I used for the dashboard:

Some lug nuts detail:

The wheels are going to be removable, so I needed to modify the axles.

Completed, painted, and weathered brakes with brake lines:

Brakes mounted on hubs with axles/lug nuts:

Finally, I have modified the wheels to fit the new axles and added valves and weights:

That's all for now!
Alex

I was almost afraid to point this out earlier. I had just assumed maybe you were going to open the bonnet.

Man that cockpit tub looks familiar! I have to say, this is alot of fun for me.

Brakes look terrific. Beautiful work as always.

Re: Supercar of the 90's - Making of Ferrari F50

Now, I don´t check your WIP for a couple of days and you add this amount of stuff to the model. Great work on everything. Another tutorial from you and I sure am thankful for you being back and sharing your great work with us. Even my girlfriend who hates modelling said that this is terrific craftsmanship! There you have it!

Hi,

why did I miss this???

You put a lot of money into additional parts for the kit, but it seems it is worth the money. Clean build, nice details - great so far

Re: Supercar of the 90's - Making of Ferrari F50

Another update guys - made the seats, still needs some work there, C/F + seatbelts, door panels still need some polishing.

This is what I have on the engine so far:

Till next time!
