Re: srt 4 vs subaru impreza sti

Re: srt 4 vs subaru impreza sti

If u get any one of these 3 cars their talking about { i suggest srt4} makes sure u get a low mileage. Why do people by these cars? To beat the piss out of them, to race, to mod then when u buy a "used" one u might be getting a piece of shit. U buy one keep it under 25000miles and a waranty. I bought mine used with 7000miles. Couple miles later bone stock teh clutch slip cause the previous owner draged it once and it was his first ever manual car. And the 4 gear synchro was fudged up. Just be careful and think 5 times before u make a decision.

Re: srt 4 vs subaru impreza sti

Personally i'd go with an sti. The evo and sti can be driven yr round because they are awd turbo cars. if you buy an srt4 you will need a winter car or buy some tires better suited for winter weather. My friend drives his srt4 in the winter, but he has two sets of rims, his second pair have winter tires. he has a stage two and full exhaust. it's a low 13 second car, but it's semi safe with the winter tires in snow.

The thing about all these cars, aside from domestic such as f-bodies and stangs, is that they are marked up at dealerships. You can get a low mile 4th gen f-body for around 13-16k. and a stang even cheaper. i have a friend that owns an evo and he always tells me how his car really doesn't get good gas mileage. Most of my friends have 4 banger turbo cars and i always drive around with them in my Formula. i gotta say they really don't do much better then me on gas. my formula probably gets 18-22mpg with me beating on it frequently.

Re: srt 4 vs subaru impreza sti

I guess I will post on this because I was faced almost this very same question a few weeks ago. I saw an EVO for sale and thought about trading my SRT-4 in. All it took was a few mins even on my fav twisty road to realize the EVO was DEFF NOT for me. It was slow. It might have been able to beat my SRT on the street if I wanted to destroy the clutch launching it. It did handle very well but my SRT is fun in the twistys too. I bought my car for the street first and the track second. To me the SRT makes a lot better street car. I can drive hard without replacing drivetrain parts all the time, I get 30 mpg, and mods are SOOO cheep. I have about 500 bucks under my hood and I think I could beat an EVO. I looked up mods for the EVO and $$$$$!!! As far at the T/A goes they are about equal in a straight line but 30>22 mpg any day. It is up to you though. I am sure you will love any of these cars just buy what fits what you want to do with the car. If you want to build a drag car get a F-body or Stang, if you want to build a lambo killing track monster get an STI or EVO, if you want a fast everyday street car that is cheep to mod and fun to drive get an SRT-4. My best advice to you if you just want a fun street car is go drive some cars. Then think about your goals for the car. That is what made up my mind. I drove a ton of cars before I bought my SRT. I wanted a 12 sec street car that was fun in the twistys, got good gas mileage, could haul people/stuff.

Re: srt 4 vs subaru impreza sti

Yea parts for sti's and evo's are expensive. stock replacment parts are real expensive also from what i hear. I like them they are really great cars with tons of potential, but they are just tooo much money to be beating hard all the time. I have a friend with an evo and he fucking launches that thing at like 7k rpms. We make fun of him for being so stupid but he just keeps doing it. It's deffinatley gonna break soon. The launch is the only reason why evo's are quick in the 1/4. cause you have more traction with the awd. if that car was just front wheel drive it would be a low to mid 14 second car. think weighs 3100 lbs. They really aren't that quick when racing on the highway. my friends srt4 pulled on a slightly moded evo very hard on the highway.

Re: srt 4 vs subaru impreza sti

there are two things that should be considered the srt-4 is lighter and cheaper, wit some basic bolt ones you could make your car faster than an sti for less money
