Thats a load of crap, one time a friend of mine got pulled over for no lights in the rain, and then the cop gave him a ticket cause he was only 16 and was still on provisional and he had someone else in the car.

Motorcycle cops EVERYWHERE ride Harley's, it's the only bike outfitted for police work right now, I believe...Unless there's like undercover bikes or something like that. Harley's themselves, aren't illegal. They come from the factory baffled. Basically it's a silencer. Two plates inside of the exhaust, one right where the exhaust connects to the V-Twin dump, and one near the end of the exhaust pipe. It's when riders punch the baffles out(which is HARD btw, my father and I did it to his) or buy new exhausts that don't have the baffles that makes them really LOUD. But obviously police bikes don't do this, they're nice and baffled.

Yeah, the CHP just began using BMW's which sucks cause you think its just a guy on a bike going fast, and then its a damn cop. Hell of my friends have gotten jacked by those guys. But those bikes are most likely hella fast.

We have a new black camaro in town. It is totally black, no light rack or nothing.

You can't even see inside the windows it's so dark. That's how I used to tell undercover cops is seeing the lights on the inside. Not on this camaro.

Once he turns his lights on everything on that car lights up. It's really pretty to see the light show unless you are the in front of him.

We just got a crotch rocket state trooper in town also. It's silver with blue neons on it. I'll try to get a pic of it sometime.

Actually some states like arizona still use the old triumph motorbikes. That's a brand that most of you kids probly don't remember. Most of the bikes are really rare.

But if you guys are really wanting to try to challenge the law. Take up one of those gung ho lawyers. You know the sorts that protect those 'wonderful' harley riding folks. And use the fact that motorcylces in general are not scruitinized about muffler systems so therefore other vehicles should not. Your going to have to play like your willing to stay within some restrictions but you may be williing to pull it off some how.

Not much else I can think of that you can do.

I'm going into court in like 2 weeks as a witness to my friends ticket hearing to fight it. We were lost in a town that's unfamiliar to us both so he pulled onto a street, but it's not really a street, it was a fred meyer driveway type street. Anyway, two streets crossed and there was a three way intersection, so that one street could turn freely without stopping while the other 3 had to stop. We were in the free lane and didn't have to stop. There were no other cars around so he decides to do an e-brake slide to turn the car around. (in case you were wondering, he's the one with the d-cup exhaust) Almost as soon as we start to pull away, theres a bike cop on his ass. I guess he was sitting in the back corner of the parking lot with his buddy. This guy is missing a couple front teeth :toothless, and he's just as goofy as hell. Here's what's messed up about it though:

1. Gives him a 2nd degree neglegent driving ticket: $490 - says he almost struck another vehicle. After we did the slide, a car pulled up to the intersection and pulled past us. Correct me if I'm wrong on this, but it's neglegent driving classified as "intentional property damage"?

2. My friend didn't have the actual insurance cards with him because he had just gotten the policy, but he did have the papers that said he was signed up with the insurance people. Cop was going to give him another ticket for $450 for no proof of ins. Let him off because he's such a nice guy.

3. On the ticket it says the wrong street we were pulled over on. Completely off, we checked.

4. He called to confirm the court date to fight it. They said that it would be pushed back a couple weeks because that cop was on vacation and couldn't be there. Can they do that?

It's up to you guys... Think the battle is worth waging? He should at least have it dropped from neglegent to something smaller because there is no way in hell he almost struck another vehicle.

This doesn't really classify as profiling, but I wonder how different the story would be if it was some 45 year old man in a miata...

From everything I know and have read they CANNOT do this!

Also, the ebrake slide is simply a more efficent way of turning the car around, even cops do this.

Sounds like it was your fault to start with and the cops just wanted to hit you hard enough that you wouldn't try to do it again.

As much as I hate cops, doing something like that on city streets is what keeps the cops on all of the rest of us. Save it for a place that you know there is no cops in a town that you know real well.

Going to court will get it reduced but the likely hood of you getting it dropped is a lost cause. You can probably get the insurance thing dismissed and the neglegent driving could be dropped to a careless driving.

Only a lawyer could totally save your souls cause they deal with the judges all the time.

Good Luck

FlyRice...

Obviously it's his fault, but he did not almost strike another vehicle like the ticket says.

As for the how-to on e-brake slides (i know it's not a drift so don't waste your time trying to explain that) go to http://www.driftsession.com/technique.htm for some infomation. They have some nice stuff.

In the eyes of the law if you do something reckless whether a car is there or not then it is still your fault. There is always that chance that another car could of come along where he just missed it in his bling spot. But you just don't know.

That's exactly why he got ticketed. I don't agree with the ticket either but that is the reason it happened.

Oh it sucks to play the devil's advocate!

Thanks for the e-brake page.
