Re: Need some opinions

Congrats on the raise Jev, it's good to hear things are going well for ya.

Personally, I think I would stick it out with the current one you just bought. I'd rather have a '97 with 100K+ miles than an '03 with almost the same. Start looking at houses and such and get that under your belt first. That way you'll know you're mortgage payment, then you'll have more of an idea of what you can play with for a car payment.

And if you do decide to sell it now. Do so individually. You'll get so much more money than trading it in. Typically trade-in is half, or a little more than that of the individual resale value.

Good luck with your decision man. I know it's not easy. Up until last week I was fighting the same demons on deciding to go all out and get what I truly want for my next car, or just suffer with something that will get me by for the next few years. It's good to have a dad who talks you into getting the car you're set on.

Re: Need some opinions

After looking around and searching for different things, I've about decided again to just ride in what I've got for a few more years. Then maybe a few years after I get a house I can order a brand new one just like what I want. I'll just put a few mods and do a few upgrades on the current one and let it ride.

Oh White Lightening, I didn't take offence to anything you've told me. I was just set on getting another truck. I now remember why I sold my 99..to get out of payments and it sure is nice to not have to fork out $400/mo anymore. Thanks for your opinions though.

NOW.. lets talk mods!!! Any suggestions as to what will wake up the old 350 vortec's? And looks, something's got to give about these wheels/tires. 235/70's arent working anymore. I've been hung up/stuck ALOT lately..

Re: Need some opinions

kenwood,

Last time I checked, for every GMC truck sold in California, six to eight Chevys are sold, depending on model. That's why used Jimmies seem so scarce.

I like Chevy front ends better. Wish I could get a wider choice of aftermarket grilles without the @#$%&*+ bowtie!
