Re: Accents = CHEAP

i hope the nub comments dont apply to me either. as for the little boy with the gigantic e-penis issues, you know, trying to prove yourself to be a big bad man by making little boy comments isnt gonna convince us. not that it really matters, because regardless of what you bullshit around here online, in reality, you still are a sad, lonely little boy. keep running your mouth, until you run your shit on a track, you dont have anything but the bullshit thats spewing from your mouth.

Re: Accents = CHEAP

Wow, this was a retarded slapfight from hell.

Comparing Accent to Civic, a new Accent 5 spd will outrun anything Honda within $5k of its price range, and most things within $10k. Nuff said. And if you're buying an Accent because you want something better than a Civic to put cheap bolt-on mods, you're pretty retarded because neither of those cars are worth buying simply to do crap mods like that. People who do bolt-ons like you're talking about (besides the name brand piston gap...wtf?) generally do so because they want to make their existing car quick, not because they want a "performance" Hyundai. Well, except in the Honda market, which is just retarded. If you want something to mod to be different, then an Accent is definately the way to go, though an Elantra is better because the Beta engine in them can handle more tuning and some boost before you have to crack it open.

In my opinion, Honda's are WAY overdone compared to what they are capable of. Simple fact of the matter is you need an engine swap to do much of anything, and if you're talking engine swaps, let's slap a mitz 4g63 in an Accent (direct swap on pre-99 models) and see what happens. B-16 be left in the dust.

^^^that guy knows what hes talking about, except that he mixed some things up. the 95-99 accent will not accept the 4g63 without lots of modification. it will though, be a perfect candadite for the hyundai beta engine found in the tibs. can you say 135 hp in a 2000 lb. car? it would wipe the floor with civics. the earlier excels and elantras(92-95) are the engines that came with the 4g15, and so are perfect cars for the 4g63 swap.

first off, lets not forget that civics are great cars...and the D-series engines actually has lots of potential(its just that the b-series has more).

so adding things up.
98 accent(bb price)= 4000
2.0beta engine on ebay w/tranny= no more than 800
(ive seen 35k engine+tranny auctions go for 250)
turbo kit= 2800
http://www.speed-factor.com/

total= 7600

so right there, you have a reliable car(if you dont believe me, go to www.hyundaiperformance.com and ask some turbo beta's how long they have been running their turbo) running around 200whp in a 2100lb. package.

now lets compare...
98 civic(bb price) = 9000
b16 engine(same mileage w/out tranny) = atleast 800
turbo kit = 2800 atleast

total=12600

with around the same hp(as the b16 puts out around 135 hp too). which would you want?

and if you actually read that post i made on the turbo/super accent, you would see that he spent no more than 2k alltogether. his car ran fine and very very fast untill the turbo sprang a leak. and that is not my car...as my name is tibby01, and that was an accent.

Re: Accents = CHEAP

i dont know what b16's you use, but all the ones i know about run 160-170 hp. not to mention the difference between a 98 hundai and a 98 civic is that the honda engine still runs, and will for many years to come, and the hundai motor has shit itself 2 years earlier. and the guy who brough this back up has no concept of anything remotely automotive. that block spacer crap is the biggest pile of bullshit ive ever heard.

Look who's talking about getting a used Civic and you drive a Daewoo. Now that's a cracker box, and you are so proud of it too.

You've got spark plugs....most people do! What the hell is anti-theft protection wrapped windows?

you are right i apologize. i put the b16 hp figure as whp and the beta hp as crank hp...still does not change the fact that you can get more out of the accent per dollar tan the civic.

and apparently you have no concept of anything remotely automotive. a block spacer is an effective way of lowering compression on turbo engines as long as power is kept to a relatively low level.

and there are beta engines at 200+hp that have over 50k miles on them and are still running great. and many people have put over 200k miles on their hyundai engines in on the same engine and tranny... and are still running their cars. why would a car company put a ten year warranty on engines they thought would fall apart. they would just lose money, moron. yes, hyundai's reliability was bad once, but dont dwell on the past, especially when you know nothing of the present.

Hyundai's reliability is no longer a problem, as far as most consumer magazines and survey sources go. According to JD Power a few months back, they're tied with Honda, surpassed only by Toyota in reliability.

B-16's do not come stock with 160-170hp. STFU handlebarf or whatever your name is. You have no idea what you're talking about. I'd put Hyundai's beta engine against the B-16 any day of the week, in any car they'd fit in. Besides, you can't even spell hYundai, so why do you pretend to know their reliability limits?

Re: Accents = CHEAP

Okay, forgive me for not including a $4800 limited edition racing motor when comparing civics to accents. Seems like that would be a little much. And wasn't the original argument consisting of bolt-on mods, not imported racing engines?
