Eventually ran 15 flats for a little while. Then went down to NC and ran a 14.6. WOuld have called it a fluke, but when I got back home it was repeatable at my usual track. No changes to the car. Then I added a filter, which really doesn't do anything on a T25, and times dropped to 14.3 repeatably a few weeks later. Just more experience driving. This all happened over a few month period, spanning two seasons. Then I threw a bunch of parts at the car and only dropped it to 14.2, so I was doing about as well as I could with that setup. Then I upgraded the turbo and had to relearn how to drive all over again. And the process still continues to this day It's a big part of the fun, improving your own skills.

Yea man, I defiantly agree with you. I'm hoping by the fall time, Ill make my car a track slut and be there at least once a week. This way I'll start improving every night like you did and having some good ol FUN..

Re: Has anyone made it out to the track this year?

Well, went out to the Import Wars at New England Dragway yesterday. Anyone from here go out there? I know one guy from this forum was there, I forget what his screen name here is though. Here is a repost of what I put on the local forum. I ended up losing to Mark Hallman's (of Hallman MBC fame) old car running mid 10s. Last time I trophied in this event I got second place to the same driver, but in his own car. Funny how that worked out.

There is another one July 15th if any locals want to try it out. Attendance has been down lately, so it's more likely to do well. Shit, I got second place with a lousy 12.2! After that there isn't another one until october. Also, the NOPI/NDRA event is coming to NED for the first time ever in august. Shep and Rau and all those guys are supposed to be there I hear. It's the week before the shootout, but I took more time off today to be able to make that event. Should be interesting at least.

The EVO is pretty slow, so my only chance is try to cut a good light (been a long time since I ran a pro tree!), 60 foot the bag off it, and hope the other guy has issues. This strategy worked in round 1 and 2, but Leon finally got bruces car together just in time for his bye run and final round Reaction times were in the .6s and 7s, and 60 foots were in the 1.6s. I had a 1.67 against Bill and a 1.63 against leon. Not bad for the first time launching the snow tires on a warm and decently prepped surface. First time I tried to do my usual burnout in the semi finals, the tires didn't spin  Took a completely different launching style to get it done yesterday. Right before the final round they sprayed the VHT. My car had less trouble with it than Leon/Bruce's, probably because of the lower power output, but maybe the tires had something to do with it.

I liked the evening event much better! The heat of the day was pretty much passed by the time eliminations started, and I thought it was much more comfortable overall without the sun trying to bake me alive the whole day. Stragely my car didn't get any faster as the temp dropped. All 4 runs were 112 mph, which is down from the usual 113 and occassional 114/115 on cooler nights. Summer is here I guess

There were a ton of cops on the way back. I counted 3 hiding out on 125, even though it was just after midnight. Definitely have to pay attention on the way home from now on...

Congrats to Leon/Bruce on the mid 10 seconds passes. Sorry about the trouble you had Bill. I'm just glad the car wasn't blowed up after the mess I saw in my rearview though!

Re: Has anyone made it out to the track this year?

I went out for the first time last firday with about 20 dsm/srt/evo/wrx guys from our local speed board.. Watched an Evo hit 11.7 on the stock turbo, 272/262, 3in back, stock fuel system, flashed ecu and minor mods.

I was one of the lucky ones who got a run in before the track closed due to rain. I fouled off the line playing with my studderbox waiting for a firebird to stage. Spun the wheels through 1st almost hit the wall. Had NLTS knock from 2nd to 3rd (went from 16deg top of 2nd to 4deg in 3rd). Lost 2 full seconds playing with the throttle waiting for my CEL to turn off. The 14b felt really good at 19-20 psi @ 11.5 AFR. I'm pretty sure If my stock clutch holds up on friday I'll have my first 12 slip on my full weight 2g/14b. Then comes the 150psi Methenal injection.

Ran +3.997 reaction
2.1 0-60 foot
13.79 @ 99.8mph

Re: Has anyone made it out to the track this year?

Congrats Kevin and that sucks scottsee. I woulda just pushed 'er a bit . I wont be to a track for while here, when I get it back together and have ~300 miles on it, I will trust it on the road then its to the track in Sabin. With my porting (head, o2 sensor housing, turbo, manifold), the big 16g on ~13psi (BCS mod), and cams I am hoping for a 12 second slip. Is that a reasonable goal? I do have some 8" wide rims and some pretty decent summer tires.

Re: Has anyone made it out to the track this year?

no, I think that's expecting too much.

I don't think you're even making much more power than stock at 13 psi. At that boost level with all the supporting mods, my car felt as slow as stock, and that's the evo3 16g, the turbo doesn't come alive until 18psi IMO

Don't be dissapointed if you're slower than you though, just do the mods so you run some boost.

Re: Has anyone made it out to the track this year?

Ok, well now I know and I wont be dissappointed. It will be my first time at the track, so I guess my driving skills (or lack thereof) will be more limiting than my boost pressure. I just figured that if people can run 13.7's (Talon69) on stock 2gs, I might be able to get a high 12 on a bigger turbo with shit ported, a bit more boost and cams. 13's are the goal now!

Re: Has anyone made it out to the track this year?

Yeah but I think talon69 did that on an insane amount of boost. With good driving you should hit 13's, you probably won't your first few runs though. Here's some advice, your first few runs, don't worry about the light. Don't worry about beating your competitor, get your technique down cold. Wait for it to turn green, THEN rev is up, hold it, and take off. It doesn't start counting til you start moving so you can sit there for 6 seconds and still run a 13. Helps to get your launch down.

Re: Has anyone made it out to the track this year?

I plan on hitting the track sometime in the next couple weeks. Maybe I can run a low 18 second pass with my car running as rich as it is, lol. It would probably blow black smoke when I take off. Wow. I really don't know. Never ran it on the track before, or any car for that matter. Will be interesting.

Dsmlink Log @ 20psi (no E/T) I might be close. I may +2% fuel & +1% timing to 5000rpm at 22psi to see If I can't get a 1.8ish 0-60 and high 12 next friday.

Re: Has anyone made it out to the track this year?

I was running the shit out of the T-25 I killed 2 of them in 3 months but it was worth it to me running in the 13's every run

Here was my only mods at that time. 3 inch turbo back exhaust, 1g bov, ractive filter, got rid of that shitty plastic pipe that sits under the fuse box and put a copmplete open pipe there. All my piping was stock 2g excpet for that one bend under the fuse box by the air box. Also all the free mods you can do. I was spiking the T-25 at 24psi and would drop off to about 17.

My very 1st run i ever did with my car was 14.7, got it to 14.4 that night. This is with all the mods i have listed above. Then a few weeks later all i started doing is dropping my shift points a 1,000 rpms and i was running 13's just about every run. The T-25 just could not hold much above 5,300 rpms

For the ones that have not seen it here is a video of one of my very 1st 13.7 runs. 13.73 i might add ENJOY

If that 0-60 really means 60 foot time, that's where all of your ET went. If you could drop that to a measly 1.8 you'd be running a 12.8-9. Of course this assumes you are AWD, and for some reason I'm drawing a blank right now.

I can't see the logs without a loggin, but I would drain the tank, put in 5 gallons of 116-118 octane race fuel, and turn the boost up as high as it will go. That will put you in the 12s for sure I trapped 109-110 on the 14b doing it this way. AFR should be somewhere around 12:1-12.5:1, timing around 20 degrees. What was your peak airflow/time (lb/min) on that run?
