Re: fuel pumps?

HAve you done a boost leak test? That sounds like your problem. As far as the reving, mine does the same thing so I wouldnt be worried

Re: fuel pumps?

That would have been the last thing I would of thought of. you could be right. Also I think I have a vacuum leak, i can hear air coming from on top of the intake manifold where the two solenoids are. I tried using soap and water but no luck. On my autometer boost gauge reads 16-20 psi on vac.

Re: fuel pumps?

Depends on what your vacuum is. Just do the math. Base pressure minus half of your measured vacuum. Everyones vac will be a little different dependant on mods, mileage, etc.

Re: fuel pumps?

i can take the vac off my boost gauge right? it reads boost and vac... so vac@ ideal... then set my Fuel pressure to the base of 43.5 and subtract half my vac pressure from the base fuel pressure? and set it to that? right? *its so simple, yet so difficult... i would be so conserned if gas didnt....well... blow up...*

Re: fuel pumps?

You shouldnt have to "set" the pressure with the hose on. It should go there automatically, after you set it to 43 with the hose off Otherwise everything else you said seems to be correct.

Re: fuel pumps?

I just put in a new Walbro 190 fuel pump yesterday. The car runs better at idle and all around. I can acutally hear the pump working, it sounds like a turbo supra boosting 30psi at full boost. LOL

Re: fuel pumps?

I was just thinknig, would a rewire burn up the fuel pump? Even though I have a walbro 190 pump, I just dont want the pump to get screwed because of the rewire.

Re: fuel pumps?

You are not really adding any more voltage to the pump, just allowing it to get what it was designed to recieve.
