Re: ´57 Chevy Bel Air Custom Cabrio - WIP -

Hi Steve and Daniel,

of course this isn´t final look . Cover needs primer and colour j/k

At the moment it is just a bent piece of sheet, and probably it will remain this. I also do not intend to make a chassis, it will become a model fixed in its display-box.

Re: ´57 Chevy Bel Air Custom Cabrio - WIP -

Looking good!

One concern though - is the engine cover going to be just flat plasticard? If so, once it is painted in topcoat, it will almost certainly look hollow / concave. Even to look as though it is flat, a gloss finished surface has to have a surprising amount of convex curvature to it.

Re: ´57 Chevy Bel Air Custom Cabrio - WIP -

Hi,

it´s Colour-Time:

After filler out of a can (several times added with wet sanding between) the body got a dark flat base colour and than Testors arctic-blue, 2 days set aside to dry, wet sanded with fine sandpaper and once more airbrushed with wet coats. Now it will dry for 2 weeks, than clear comes on.

Re: ´57 Chevy Bel Air Custom Cabrio - WIP -

Hi,

not much visible, but clear is on the body now.
Again it can cure before sanding / polishing, while I will spend my holidays in Spain starting next week .

Pigments are finer in reality than they appear on the last pic.
