Re: Flowmaster vs Magnaflow

Got a flowmaster on my 89 2.8, sounds great...I cant imagine anything would sound better on this V6...but Id rather have an LS1...who wouldn't?!?

I also just love the name...FLOWMASTER...would make a good name for a tampon...lol

Re: Flowmaster vs Magnaflow

I have a friend with a 3.8 with magniflows and it sounds good sometimes and real goofy/ ricy at other times. Not too loud either.....

Id try the flowtech terminator muffler......it sounds sweet......

Pure and simply, the crank orientation of stroke cycle between cylinders. Keeping it simple, if you were looking at the front of the motor and through it you would see the sum of degrees from the left to the right would be either 60 degrees or 90, Like so:

60*.................. 90*
v...v..............v.......v
.v.v.................v....v
..v.....................v

Re: Flowmaster vs Magnaflow

An LS1 doesn't sound like any typical SBC for sure.
Aluminum block, and a different firing order affect the sound a decent amount.

Re: Flowmaster vs Magnaflow

I had a flow 2 chamber on the 99Z. The sound was okay, but not to my liking. I put down 283rwhp/297rwtq with the flowmaster. I currently have a GMMG cat back. Haven't had it dyno'd yet, but I am runing 8.78 in the 1/8 mile consistantly now instead of 8.8. Don't know if that helps or not.
Here's a link to a great site that has many different exhaust clips..
