Thanks

What a wonderfully detailed engine.

I considered this model as a late 70's model but went very predictably for a Ferrari 312T3. Keep up the hard work.

Anyone know why the brakes discs moved inwards and are now back within the wheels? I am guessing its a cooling versus weight distribution trade-off?

Re: Progress - Tamiya Ligier JS-11 (lot's off pics,56K WARNING)

Sorry, forgot to mention wahers used – they are Perfect parts, available at http://www.racingminiatures.com. Patination is done by model master metalizer colours, they are quite viscous, so you can easily brush them to fading effect in corners. Exserted details are patinated by one level lighter colour, following technique: wipe up the brush on some piece of paper (newspapers etc.), and after its completely dry, only “dirty“ of the light colour, rub the brush against the exserted parts. I believe it’s called drybrushing in English. It will leave lighter patine on them.

Thanks to all for encouraging comments!

Bloody hell! This is fantastic. Are there ANY parts you're going to use from the original kit ;-) Great work, I'm very impressed!

Absolutely stunning scratchbuilding! Very inspiring. Do you prototype the pieces out of plastic and then machine them in brass and aluminum?

fantastic! Reading this thread makes me want to pick the 312T3 back up and start working on it again!
I can't wait to see the rest of the model!

Amazing - don't think you need to build the rest of the kit - the engine alone is a model in itself.
