well i just figured out today that there was never boost jets installed on my car when i got the updated ecu... but anyway i just ordered the hks evc manual boost controller, and the hardware kit, i will prolly run 13 psi because that is what stillen recomends for my set up

You got to keep in mind that your Z32 is 16 years old.
a couple of things that i might recomend replacing is the fuel dampener(gold color one), fuel pressure regulator(gold one). New fuel filter,wireing harness(your old one might be all brittle beacause of heat soke) They tend to pop out and makes your car soud like its running less then 6 cylinders(kind of sound like a wrx exhaust). Check both of your temp sensors. Get a boost controller with an intercooler. A good oil change might help. Check for oil leaks and boost leaks. Do you have a full exhaust system?(down pipes test pipes and cat back). You might have lost bro. I have intake,ecu,stillen intercoolers, down pipe and test pipe, boost controller, pulleys,and jwt flywheel and i only put down 321whp=400something to the flywheel. So dont stress yourself. just get some big turbos and injectors and you will be kicking ass LOL ![]() Oh one more thing better get some good ass sticky tires so you can hook :-) |

bro get intercoolers, down pipe test pipe, you got jwt ecu? the ash and z1 ecu you can run 15 psi safely. If you run 116octane you can run 17-19 depends on the condition of your Z some people run 20psi with 116 octane but not recomended to do so. I gues one run in a while might not hurt. Its best recomended to get and egt guage and an air fuel ration guage to monitor what cracking in your motor. I dont think your going to want to puke your motor. But yeah hope i was some help

Or some of those drag dot tires that have like one or two lines . The kind of tires i mentioned are legal. He can have all those mods and its still moderate for driving i get 24mpg on the hwy and 18mpg on the city with no cats (ash ecu helps out alot)ecu intake down pipes test pipes HKS hiper cat back exhaust pulleys jwt flywheel boost controller stillen intercoolers HKS hard pipes So for having these mods its still moderate once i need to do my smogg all i have to do is put my cats back on.

revenge! it wasnt the mach 1 but it was anoter v8 "musclecar" i just raced a 1987 pontiac firebird, the 5.7liter one and owned it, i am pretty happy haha, even tho its nothing really special, it was still a good confidence builder,

You're thinking of the Turbo TA back in the 80s. It was a turbo charged 6 cylinder and here's a fun fact...it was the fastest production TA ever produced. HA...once again...TURBOS RULE!!!

the 1980's 301 turbo only had 210hp. i know it had a shit load of torque but i dont recall, i think it was upwards of 350 ft/lbs of torque and it kicked in low. sorry...i know a little bit about this model because my uncle had one and thats all i heard about when i was a kid. reguardless, i figure the car probably weighs 4000lbs, this would not be enough power to push this car into the 12's i dont think.

Well...the 89 TTAs ran in the mid 13s from the factory. They are GTA Trans Ams with a Grand National engine with different heads and a GNX intercooler. They were officially rated at 250 hp but actually put out ~300 hp with a 350 lb feet of torque. Pretty ballsy mother fuckers. I remember reading somewhere along the line that for a long time they were the fastest Trans Ams ever made. Don't think this still holds true. Worded that wrong before.
Oh...and the ram air formula firebird runs low 13s...not 12s. Just a little faster than the turbo TA which runs in the mid 13s. Both are pretty fast for stock cars. http://www.ls1fbody.com/1999_Quickest_Cars.htm Very cool article. I love the pic of the VR4 at launch.

Actually the 80 Firebird/TA's were alot lighter than they looked. The 301 Turbo model that year weighted just slightly over 3500lbs. Still the 301 Pontiac engine was a dog, with or without turbo really not a impressive block. The 5.7 TPI's actually I would not refer to as dog's. With very little work they can be monsters, they make tremendous amounts of torque down low but are limited up top due to extra long intake manifold runners Just swapping in a set of shorter runners in a 87 350 TPI could give you 20 - 35 extra horse up top and that would put there total output to around 260 - 270 horse with some other complimenting mods they could easily take down some impressive cars but sure stock they are not going to be able to take out a 300ZX TT (not even close) and I know from my past experience's with 300ZX TT's you guys can run, especially with a few minor mods. Mach 1's are no push overs though, I agree from a roll or on a longer run the thread starter would have probably have taken him.
