Yea, I think the other post meant 99 - 02 Cobra's, excluding the new 03.
Really? Good job. Like I said, I've never seen a stock LX 5.0 driven to a mid 14. Mostly see low to mid 15s with an occasional very high 14 in the pack. So great job.

it should be pretty even. I race a friend at work a few times. He has a 94 cobra with intake, exhast, no CAT. It depends on who lauches better.

Not very objective but, I have ridden in both many times and mine feels much faster. Anyway, he traded it in on an 2002 F150 Harley davidson edition supercharged truck. So, I will never know. But, at least he bought a Ford.

people are askin wut VTEC does...its not a power adder, it simply keeps the motor's power band more even across the board. its' nice to have at high rpm.

as for cobras, they are quick little cars. i luv honda/acura/nissan, all those, but i've seen some cobras eat hondas like nothing. but then i've also seen hatch's, and other imports eat stangs/domestics. i really think it jus depends on what everyone wants to drive. no hate towards a certain type of car, jus all based on person preference.

That's because of torque. Torque is what you FEEL, not horsepower.

Never said mine felt faster because of HP. If you wil point out where I said that, then I stand corrected. I just stated mine felt faster. Of course I know what gives the all out sit you back thrust. I have over twice the torque that he does. A stock s2000 in a straight line would be no competition.

Damn, calm down, I never said you thought horsepower made things feel faster. I was just stating a fact, relax. I was with you on this post, goodness

But now that you've started, an S2000 would be a pretty good race for your car stock. Not talking about with mods, but stock for stock it would be close to even. Even though you have more torque and you pull harder, the S2000 pulls much LONGER making things close. Because of the shorter powerband you have to give up torque for speed much sooner than the s2000, allowing him to effectively have almost as much torque as you do in later gears.

Sure, stock to stock the numbers where pretty close with both cars. But as of know, even with the few mods I have, it wouldnt be much of a competition, unless I mess up. But if it was on a road course type track, I would be slaughtered. No doubt about that.

96 was the first year of the 4.6 Foo. They kept the 5.0 in the 94's and 95's. The Romeo Modular 4.6 281 was first in the 96 mustang.
