Screw an M3, I'm gettin me an EVO

you know an M3 would be really nice, but i think id take the evo over it as well. And like Cassie, why do so many of you guys try and use your cars to get laid? Shit i drive a cavalier and get laid just fine, if you need an M3 to do that, you got some issues boy. Get a hair cut, take a shower, shave, pluck that unibrow, buy some new cloths.

I would go with the Evo for one, its alot more reliable, and i wouldnt be fighting with a BMW dealership to get it fixed. Also the more expensive the car is, the more expensive aftermarket parts are for it. Which is completely ridiculous. I got a good example of that with my car. I know its a cavalier, but its like the equivelant of an SS cavalier. Anways stock a new serpentine belt would be like 20 bucks, now a new belt is 120 bucks. Why so much money to run one extra pulley? I DO NOT KNOW! But thats how the car would goes. I bought a supercharger package for my car for 2,000 bucks. You want a supercharger package for a Mustang, 5,000 bucks. Granit my charger isnt as big.

Id take an Evo over a M3 just because of the power potential and reliability.

The E36s were reliable as hell, but they had a TON of problems with the S54B32 when the first came out, all the way up to 2003, I believe. Rev limiter not kicking in, and something wrong with the engine lubricants, causing the motor to pull a 13B on steroids...blowing up, but not at 80k miles, like, 5-10k miles. And for a long time, BMW was blaming it on the drivers, and not replacing the motors under warrenty. S54B32s arent exactly...cheap. They got the problem fixed, but still, it makes me less likely to buy a used one.

And as it has been stated, modibility isn't the best. Its good, becuase air flow elements will drop your times nicely, but the ECU is turned pretty hars from teh factory, which is way we are seeing very high 12 sec times outa stock ///M3s.

I do plan very much on gettting an ///M3, but like I said, its gonna have to wait till after Law school. And I still think its awesome that this Evo beat a procharged Z06.

Anyhow, I would say this is a pointless argument.. but it is a refreshing change from US vs. Japanese.

Me? I'd rather have an Evo. I couldnt care less about the "sexyness" factor, however.. slapping on some skid plates and some mud tires, I can go have fun in the back roads. And then pull up to a girls house and take her and 3 friends out for the night.

skylines... GT-R or not, 300 w/e hp they put out isnt all that great...and they weight a ton...Asian AWD cars just have a nac for it. Evo's are fast, yes, Skylines are quite fast, yes...but 100k just to buy one...then you have to have it shipped and legalized? jesus i could be looking at Mid level porsche's at that price (speaking for new cars and prices bassed on one of the larger Skyline importing companies).

no but they know the difference between a mazda and a BMW... trust me
they could care less whats under the hood... some flip out if you even drive a little fast so really there is no point in having any type of power at all.

stock ride height is WAY too low to do any real off roading...
which is why the rally versions are lifted a bit...except for the classes where stock suspension must be used

Not to mention, it's not about having the fastest car. The skyline IS a legend. I love the skylines stylings.. It just exhumes "bad ass". Sure you can make cars faster.. but who cares? It's not like you become a better person by having a faster car.

When shit breaks, Which one's going to be easier and cheaper to fix? The Nissan or the Porsche? With the recent influx of people putting RB-series engines in their cars, more and more people know how to work on them, more and more people carry parts for them. Parts are getting easier and cheaper to get as well.

Porsche? Good fuckin' luck.

Don't even start on looks, there's no accounting for taste.

I could comment in a more extreme fashion than this, but all I'll say is I live in an area where, if you are gonna use your car to get you laid, or at least a factor to help, it better be a Ferrari or Lamborghini, or else you don't have a chance. Money magazine rated my city as the number one city in Texas to live in (FUCK YOU HIGHLAND PARK! 817 IN THE HIZZOUSE!).

ANd I would rather have a Skyline over a Porsche. I see Porshes every day back home. Hell, one chick in my school, her first car was a Carrera. Another a Boxter. Porsches are pretty common in my area. Not as common as some of the lower end sport cars like Z06s and Cobras, but still, I'll see more than a handfull, ranging from rat ass 944s to shiny brand new 997 Turbos and what have you, a day.

Dirt and gravel roads do exist. Mud tires > street tires for those roads.

speed wise: Im still stock and on the highway to 135+mph where we shut down the m3 wasnt passing me and I was slightly pulling on him.
I like the m3 but its not worth the money unless you like it for the "sexyness factor" .. in which case you have to much money to spend.

I cant comment on reliability other than to say germans usually make kickass cars when it comes to reliability.. and my evo has had ZERO issues... so I would call it even in that dept.

And if you need a car to get women you have probs.

Anyone rich enough to get a skyline in the US is doing it because he has a taste for the skyline, for a rare automobile or has coveted it for a while (your idea of a japanese fanboi).

A lot of people think M3's are the shit and a lot of people dive right into the whole 'pay for the label' deal with European cars just like people run around buying 50 dollar t-shirts from Abercrombie & Fitch and call it taste.


As far as a good car getting girls, yah you will get admiration, so what? Admiration will never take you to the next 3 bases and hit you a home run. You would sure avoid a lot of gold digging bitches if you didn't use an expensive car to catch their eyes as well. personally I would much rather have an EVO I'm not sure what the price difference is but I bet it's alot if you put the money you saved into the evo you could make it faster. I don't know but I'm pretty sure an EVO out handles the BMW alot of my friends have BMW's and Lexus's and I'm not really that impressed by it. In the end they just end up looking like rich little snobs because they drive expensive ass cars but are broke all the time. My friends are only like 19 or 20 so it's probably different for you. An evo man you can pimp it out and make it look nicer than the M3. I say take the vo and pimp out it out theres something about pimping out your car and making it look completely different than any other car. My friend has a lexus IS 300 2003 and yeah its nice but man it looks like every Lexus out on the street I don't like that. I personally like driving around and knowing I'm not going to run into anybody who has a car that looks even close to mine and that I can turn heads wherever thats just me though its all in your taste
