My dream cars (and totally unrealistic ) would be an Aston Martin DB7 and a Ferrari Maranello. My realistic dream car (which will be my next car) is an R34 GTT Skyline.

Hell a well sorted EB Civic is faster.
Yeah, the 1O6's reliablity has always been what has pushed me toward the Civic, but you gotta love the way it drives..............................

I have driven a 1O6 GTi, and a 5th Gen (but not 4th Gen) Civic SiR, and pt the handling, brakes and suspension of the 1O6 ahead of the Civic, but for sheer guts the Civic is a clear winner. The more I think about it the more I want an EG SiR 3door, or at least a bog standard Civic with a B16a dropped in, with some Type R parts dropped in (Honda NZ sell aftermarket Type R parts, which I can get a discount on)

I have the parts list sitting in frount of me, and thier still damn'd expensive. Even if you pay trade. (which I do. )
And the cost of a swap is seriously not worth it, especialy on a 1st car which you will trash and kill anyway.
Just buy a damn 4g Si for about $2,000 and thrash the crap out of it, while you save 15g for an EG SiR, which will only cost 10 by the time the EF is dead, and you know how to drive it with out killing yourself.
Remember there is no substitute for experiance, no matter how much knowledge you have.
And I dont know anyone who got a nice 1st car and didnt either write it off, and thrash it to death before its time.

Well there is some validity in your statement, but I have seen SiR's advertised fo 9g, but I think it could be wise to hold off and get a lukewarm Si rather than a sizzling SiR.

As it is right now I have a helluva lot of driving experience for someone who has been driving for such a short time, when I got my Learners back in March (Yes I know I started late) Jimmy (Being an exprerienced Targa driver himself) invited me down to stay with him for a weekend, borrowed a manual Mk 4 Golf GTi off the lot and took me down to a rural area about an hour and a half away from Mt Maunganui where you are lucky to see about one car every three days and generally taught me how to control a torquey and powerful FWD car at speeds of about 150 km/h (He really wants me to take over driving his Targa duties while he is gone) which really are not speeds I will be exceeding as a matter of fact 110 k's is all I feel comfortable doing on the motorway.

Anyway, from that experience, I learnt a hell of a lot about car control and generally I feel more confident behind the wheel, on top of that if Jimmy, doesn't obey my every order, I can tell Bay Prestige about what that little Golf got up to that weekend

On top of taht I have no intentions of turning into a faggot Boy RAcer and thrashing the hell out of my car and doing burnouts and donut's (What the hell are they supposed to prove anyway??)- Maybe the occasional 1/4 Mile at Meremere but that is as far as it goes..................

But that doesn't mean I don't want you to inform me if you see a decent 4th Gen Si for a reasonable price, is that clear, captain???:finger:

Oh really? :finger: :finger:

You will trash your first car, I said exactly the same thing you just did when I got my first car, and it wasnt long before it was bouncing vavles everytime I drove it.

But having Jimmy as a brother gives you a huge head start.

Your in the same position I was in awhile ago. I wanted a 205 GTi but looked for months and couldnt find one. before I found one I was talked out of it mainly because of how expensive parts are to get and find.

Then I started looking for an SiR and eventually found one and I dont regret it at all

As for me my list could go into the hundreds but the top ladies are:

1997 Porsche 911 Twin Turbo S
2003 Ferrari F60 Concept (Yes wether it runs or not)
1999 Lamborghini Diablo GTR
Sorry, the captin is rite here, I was 17 with mi first car, a 85' Prelude, fast for back in the day, and i told dad, id drive nice and all the crap.

But I drove like a farking crazy C*%t!!!!!!!

Almost died a few times, just a dumb boy, but boy did I learn alot about driving, and shit, of course i never thought i drove that mental, but wen i look back, i did do dodgy shit regularly. But u are a CRAP DRIVER!!!, if u dont LEARN from ur mistakes. WHich I did, even now, wen sumthing happens i think, I wont do that again, or hmmm next time do it like this. U know.

Now I drive a car with 5 times the power, and I get into no trouble compared to back in the day. Of course there is a little bit of stuff that goes down. Well Im 21 driving a 1998 VR-4, of course there will be some games going down, but not like before.

Basically, ur first car will get such a hidding it woint be funny, or it will end up off a cliff or sumthing!

I wonder if the interceptor is faster than it or not.
