Re: firebird vs camaro

I myself am a Camaro guy. I briefly owned an older model Formula and it was one of those freaks from the factory. It was a stock-as-hell HP305 that was just unreal. It blew away almost everything that pulled up next to me. If you go Pontiac, my vote would be for a WS-6. All the others look cheaply built to me. Something about the design just doesn't jive. I currently drive a '94 LT-1 Z-28 which I love the looks and performance of. I also kinda like the idea that it was one of the last years for the old style small blocks.
Unless you park on the street, be aware of those ground effects. I don't even have them and I drag that dang ABS plastic air dam thing on just about every driveway I pull into. All you can do is cringe when it happens, because if you hit the brakes you'll send the nose down even harder. I can just imagine pulling too close to a parking curb and breaking that $1,000 piece of plastic to bits.

Have fun with whatever you decide.

^ About that, whenever you pull into a driveway or something of a dip, turn your tires in any which direction, so your tires go first and not the front of the car, believe me it works.

Re: firebird vs camaro

My '78 Camaro is pretty low. I can't clear a pop can on it's side if that is any indication. I had to have the collector flanges cut off and welded solid because I kept dragging up sewer lids. Just got sick of replacing gaskets and cussing at the city road works.
I am not the low-rider type, more of the hot rodder type so I put air shocks in the back to give it a little bit of a rake. Not backhills redneck Dodge rake, but more gentle. I thought it looked cool anyway.
Actually I was speaking from experience. I cracked the plastic on the nose parking too close to a tall curb. Man I was mad. As for approaching at an angle - that is something I learned a long time ago. Every once in a while though, I forget and think I am driving my truck and come into one head on in my '94 Z-28. I hate that sound. Everybody always looks up cringes and shakes their head like I just crunched some gears or something.

yea, putting a body kit on after your shit is as low as a vette would be stupid since it would be draging the ground, wont even have to worry about cracking it if you hit a bump to hard becasue it will prob just rip right off the car.
