Hey fellow modelers, I got the turbo system finished today. The wastegate, exhaust pipe coming off the snail done. I only have the intercoler to make and route the intake pipe and add a blow off valve to it. The body has been polished up, but black details not yet painted. I'll post pics soon.

Do you know how your going to make the intercooler?
Heres how i made mine.
I got that black plastic piece that is suppose to be the grill (very fake looking) and cut all the detail off of it. then i filled that place in with styrene plastic and puttyed up the edges. Then I stuck three pieces of copper wire horizontally across the styrene plasticand when that was dry...i painted it silver. then i stuck it back in place and i had a intercooler...without a turbo (I know, the intercooler serves no purpose at all...except looks maybe)
Hope this helps anybody.

Thug, I took mine from a Fujimi Skyline kit and made some additions to it. The original Fujimi piece looks like a radiator as it does not have the end tanks and the inlet/outlet pipes. I'm making the pipes out of the apropriate sprue size and molding the end tanks to the sprue with CA glue. ( I used an Accelerator on the glue to help it cure at a faster rate). After I'm going to sand down the excess CA to form the end tanks. I'll show a before and after pic of the intercooler when I get the chance to work on it.

Spoiler

I was wondering if this Revell kit comes with a variety of spare parts to choose from. I was particularly interested in the 3 piece spoiler seen on most of the ITR from Revell.

I am currently building an FTO and have 2 coats of Pure white so far, but the spoiler that came with it is really small as it is the GS model just like the one below. I was wondering if anyone was willling to send the 3 piece spoiler if its just sitting in the junk box.

If anyone is kind enough to concider sending there parts, please let me know the dimensions as to assure that it will fit the FTO.

Thanks a bunch guys! Nice paint job wkma! :smoker:

Xenokryst,
E-mail me for the wing. If anyone wants one I can send it to you as I have three sets of these wings and the others that I don't use. I dont like the 3 piece wing too much so I'll never use them.

Poorboy, Tenzoracer, The tools that I used were common hobby tools, except I had a small pair of needle nose pliers to form and shape the tubing after heating. I used the heat from a cordless soldering iron, but you can use a small candle or a regular soldering iron. This takes a lot of patience and practice to get right. The turbo exhaust/compressor and the manifold took me about a hour to make from scratch-nothing is from a kit. I'll post pictures soon. I've got the wastegate, exhaust, intercooler, plumbing, blowoff valves all done. I don't have to many "in progress" pictures of the build , but I can show unpainted and painted pics soon. I may be able to build some if you guys aren't up for it.

Would it be easier to re-make the parts from scratch or to make molds and cast copies?

Hey you guys, I need some suggestions for interior color. I'm in the final finish stages and can't decide on color combos. These are the choices: Black/ Blue, Black/ Gray, Black/ Yellow, Blue/ Gray, Blue/ Yellow, or Blue/ White. This is what the car looks like:

Thanks for your suggetions, Walter
