Re: brain vs mind

Right now my mind is telling my brain to not post in this thread as it will make me even dumber.

Re: brain vs mind

well first...some of you who have posted are trying to hard to be funny....who are u trying to impress...guys or what...gross.....second...why do u all get so offended by me asking questions...if u dont like it...dont read it....no one has a gun to ur head....third...this is an automotive philosophy forum, not the harvard "know-it-alls" forums....it seems like this is some competition of who is smarter...what are u all worried about....its better to humble urselves and ask questions instead always trying to be right...

ne way...are u all saying that the brain exists physically but the mind only exists in the mind...

Are you trying to take over the world? If so, sivic02 has already claimed that.

The mind is an explanation of the physical processes that happen in the brain. The mind does not really exist. We are all car guys here, lets take the word racing, racing is a word to describe certian actions taken by a driver of a car. Thats all the mind is, its a word used to describe the actions taken by the physical brain.

Re: brain vs mind

I am saying that racing is a description of certian things that happen involving a car and a driver, it by itself is nothing.

By the last post I am saying that the idea of natural selection weeding out less capable members of a species has just been proved wrong by you.

you.

Are you in summer school? Did you pick a hard topic or something?

what is a person without a body? Mind= thought process/intelligence. Brain= matter that holds mind. You can't have a mind without a brain.

Sure, I might have emotional problems, but damnit these are some of the stupidest questions I have ever seen.

The brain is everything, the mind is nothing but a description of processes that occur in the brain.

Try to follow me here:
Right now I am typing, what is typing? It is using my fingers to press down keys in a certian order to spell out words.
What is me pressing down keys in a certian order to spell words without using the word typing to describe it? It is STILL pressing down keys in a certian order to spell out words even if we dont use the word typing to describe it.

Do you get where I am trying to go with that?

What is the mind without the brain? Nothing. What is the brain without the mind? The brain.
