SOHC are typically associated with low redline. DOHC are use on higher reving engines.

All of Nissans V6's are DOHC, i would think their competition would do the same thing.

toyota & nissan have been making DOHC engines since back in the day, & honda uses both styles the SOHC is more 4 fuel efficient as the DOHC is more 4 power, just honda can make a mad DOHC 4 banger.
