Re: Re: Re: In Progress Tamiya 1/12th Porsche 935 Torbo

Very good work.... those wear and tear effects are fantastic
I also have a kit of those to do some day.... but I still don't know when I begin
but already now hope you finish that kit...
Good rest of progress....

I'm really enjoying the views at the realistically painted components, and the fiberglass parts are excellent. Nice progress pics.

Thanks everyone for your great comments so far.

Here's a little more progress on the brakes and suspension parts. This is assembled OOB with some more washing and dry-brushing with various testors metalizers.

Front brakes, hub and shocks:

Rear brakes, swingarms and axels w/working u-joints that will eventually make up the IRS:

And just another picture of the pieces-parts:

The nuts and bolts are so real! How you did that?

Thanks guys, the nuts and bolts are either provided with the kit as separate plastic pieces or molded to the part and detailed with washes of flat black/smoke mix or painted with various metal colors.

Some assemblies are moving along rather quick now that all the painting is done. Here is a few pics of the engine (assembled tonight) minus the turbos, exhaust, injection pump and wiring, etc.... it'll get some wiring over the next couple of days then I'll add more parts to it.

Great work! I admire you for having the patience for all of those details. This must be a killer kit.
Does anybody know, where to get other decal sets besides the one with Martini-livery for this kit? Are there some out there?

Thanks All.....

HAHA.... Mike, believe me when I tell you there are better footsteps to follow.... but thanks for the compliment buddy!

Last night I assembled the front and rear suspension to the chassis and wired the distributer replacing the kits vinyl molded plug wires with real wires and boots.

This is some very nice work. The detail is amazing.. It looks like real metal most of the time, hard to think this is mostly plastic..
