Gadgets.....Computers.....Tools.....French Curbs...Rulers.
Seen it done it.
Mentel,
This should be a great tool for you to practice your perspectives and then go with free hand after you master the vanishing points.
Every drawing....I don't care what it is, always starts with a box/boxes...even faces.
I've use Drafting tables for years for art and architectural/furniture drawings and computers for my engineering drawings and trust me....everything helps if you know how to use it.
Start your drawing on your gadget with very light lines and create your details freehand afterwards.........should be fun for you.
Don't forget to post your first drawing so these guys can see what can be done.......and yes this is ART.

Re: check this out guys

Thanks for the KIND words chevelle. Seems like you're the only one here that really understands what I'm out to accomplish here. I'm still having trouble routing the curves into the plywood. Need to figure out how to correctly measure them, quite tricky.

Re: check this out guys

I didn't think that what I said was so negative.....just offered an opinion- but also acknowledged that the tool was something that could be good for your confidence. Everything that you learn will come in handy later- that's for sure. It all adds up.

Although I do believe in learning the basics-like everybody else had to. I'll also acknowledge that it can be boring and tedious to do so.

I guess that confidence is pretty important early on- it helps you get through all of the ugly drawings (speaking from experience) and keep learning. That being said, anything that helps your confidence level has to be good.

Go for it.
