Being a better track car doesn't make it any better on the street. I don't own a racetrack and could cope with the 'doctor' cache (wonder what the Stang says about you?) while doing 12's so sign me up for the Z06 treatment

Lez'see...the 2002 Z06 is considerably faster than those stats...conditions perfect, and under 4 secs 0-60 possible. 1/4 more like 12.5 than 12.8's...and it has air conditioning and a stereo that you can listen to while you beat the Cobra R around the track. Cobra R is a feat, but, Chevy's got Ford licked on this fight. in every way except collectibility

Also, look at 0-100-0 mph, a better test of a track car then just acceleration.

The Cobra screams 'cool.' But pulling up in a ZO6 in Detriot is like pulling in a Tuscan R in London. The Corvette just has that... stuff...:sun:

Now we just need to pull up in a Tuscan R in New York

Im quite sure the R can pull better times in perfect conditions too,but still the fact that it was limited to 300 id rather have the R.But hey everyone has their own views.

I'm damn sure the Cobra R will not keep up with the 2002 Z06. 2001, yes, 2002, no. Simple as that. now that i've gotten my hands dirty...ah...I like the Cobra R, but, it's just a glorified special edition that could've been a lot more sadly. 2002 Z06 comes with all creature comforts, and still will spank that cobra around a track, on a 1/4, 0-60...whatever...

2 years newer than the Cobra R im sure it can.. If Ford made a 2002 Cobra R I have no doubt it would keep right up with the Z06. But there is a cobra already made for that..

Yeah, well, we'll see what that '03 Cobra can do once it's released. Still, I doubt it's going to be urinating on Z06's at a track, or, for that matter, it's probably still going to be hardpressed to beat it down a strip. Weight's up, and hp is still down from Z06. Ford's Chevy killer is known as the GT40. But it shouldn't even count, at 100k+ when released. Or should it?

Unfortunately, I haven't had the golden opportunity of getting it to the track as of late. Nearest one is a good 3 hour trip. That's roughly 50 dollars in gas round trip... but, i'm hoping to possibly run it down there in the summer. Should make 12's without a wimper, and if I throw on a set of drag radials, who knows what could happen? I'm currently saving pennies for a new torque convertor and possibly some more power upgrades. Til then, though, it's got to stay slow...lol.

I doubt anyone here will get a CobraR for the 55K list. They went well above that. They are great cars and I wish I had one, but I got the 02Z06 and I am happy with that decision. The Z06 is a very easy and forgiving car that hauls A**! My Boss302 is quick too, but it takes a lot of work and effort to drive fast, aka, no torque, just HP! 405/405 for the Z06 makes it an easy choice, even for this Ford guy. Bill
