Question

yea my name's Kyle, just turned 18 oct. 3, and i could not be worse off for a person in college! Sigh here we go... Aright i am 18 with NO license, NO car, although i'll have a license in December when i go back home from college. I am desperately tryin to save up some cash for a '96 mitsubishi eclipse GS.. I know didly squat about cars so i am hoping that this really helps me out. I'm planning on majoring in Mechanical engineering, and i work part time at Anheuser Busch's Busch Gardens (BEER, lol) in Tampa. Oh ya, i attend USF. So, anyhow if anyone knows of a site or something where this loser here can learn what a steering wheel is for i'd greatly appreciate it.

Re: Introductions - introduce yourself to us!

Hey,

My name is Ben, I'm 18 (not for much longer though) I am what you would call a car freak. I have a 97 GST which is my baby. I am starting a restoration on a 64 1/2 Ford Mustang 289 V8 Convertible (numbers matching, 1 of the 1st 500 off the line) I have 3 occupations. I work as a IMAX projectionist 50 hours a week (God I love running $2 million dollar system) I have a computer biz (had since 14) and I am now starting to design and resell stuff for Dodge (yes....the car company) I have a website if ever intrested www.infocusdesigns.net and I have a g/f. other than that...I am a normal kid. I am thinking about going to college and becoming a mechanic (I just love cars)

Cheers
Ben

Re: Introductions - introduce yourself to us!

Don't think I ever introduced myself, so here it goes:
My name is Ashwin, at the young age of 17 I'm a senior in high school in southern california (thousand oaks). Just got my 1998 GS-T (5spd) a month and a half ago or so with 49K miles driven by a 43 year old woman to work and back. She got bored of ppl trying to race her, so she put it up for sale. It was garaged for its whole life, and the paint is in such good condition that I now have to clean out my own garage to put the car in. Anyhow, planning on doin a little here and there for supporting mods and then finally putting in a 14B....or a 16G depending how much i really want out of it. I'm debating between leaving it stock (gauge & MBC) because its in such an awsome condition and working on it later, or just slowly goin to work on it over the next 6-8 months until i get a bigger turbo to put in next summer. Whats your call on it?

Re: Introductions - introduce yourself to us!

great thread idea!

my name is Vince Carter, and yes, i'm famous. currently i'm living in the Newport Beach area of the OC. i do Real Estate Loans for tons of $$ [way to much for a guy that went to college for 6 years and didn't get a nice paper to hang on the wall, but SDSU is just like that]. i got a 97 spyder with way too much $$ into it. the carpet is in the trunk because the top leaks like a bitch and i had to tear it out and throw it in one of those industrial strenght washers... lol... i know a pretty fair bit of stuff about the Spyder/4g63. i have been on this site for over a year now and although i'm not on here too often anymore, if anyone would like to hit me up on MSN messenger feel free. i'm also a pilot and fly out of John Wayne airport about once a week.

on a side note, i would love to get a little meet up of the olcal DSMr's in this area for lunch and possibly a PCH stroll, and a nice BS session. so all you OC peeps hit me up on PM if you are interested!

Hola, I'm Will. I'm black/venezuelen/korean (go figure). I just turned 17 last October and i got my Eclipse RS, 5 speed, not bad for a 1st car. I live just south of Dallas, Texas, in a city called Duncanville. I'm a Junior in high school and i'm currently taking my 3rd year of an automotive class. I want a new car sometime soon, such a GSX, while i'm still in high school, since the school has a fully operational garage, i won't have to pay labor i'm currently J-O-B-less right now, so i'm job hunting so that i can eventually get a new, faster car. I've been into cars every since i was a baby (i built road courses with dominoes, lol), i've been in love with 240sx's every since i was able to grasp the idea of tuning cars the right way. but now, i've got a new found love for DSM's, so i'm having fun driving the hell out of my RS. i've been a member of AF for quite some time now, and i've had my lumps here and there, all in the process of learning. i'm pretty knowledgeable about 240sx's and drifting, so if you ever need advice, i'm your man. peace yall

Hi, everyone, I'm Leah...17 year old girl who is currently a senior at Topeka High School in Topeka, KS, and getting ready to attend Tech school all at the same time (whew..)

I feel really sorry for my car right now...i think it's feeling very old after reading what eveyone has...I have a '93 Eclipse GS 1.8L with a five-speed shortshifter (about the only good thing about the car currently), that burns oil very badly...but, it has 190,000 miles on it, so who can blame it? When i bought it, it was extreemly uncared for, but, i'm tying to help it along the way...the way i figure, it's better than the '91 Accord that i traded in to get it...anyway, feel free to e-mail me if you want..buh bye!
