BUT we still have to wait and see if the SC tC outperforms the N/A typeS. It doesn't really make a difference that the SC is going to be stock on the tC. If it doesn't outperform an N/A typeS, then it's not worth getting the SC tC, in my opinion.
well when u think about it.. the type s still would probably win.. yes the tc will be more powerful.. with the torque boost it gets from the sc.. but the rsx is still a great handling car.. and it DOES weigh hundreds of pounds lighter.. but even with the sc the scion tc is $3000 cheaper than the type s.. im sure that $3k can be put to good use

also to the rsx guy i've been doin some research (about the cars in my sig) man its such a hard choice.. the rsx was in there.. but i realized i dont have the extra $ for that luxury lol

Yep, I'd have to agree there. You probably can dump the extra $3k into suspension and roll bars to make the tC respond better. Out of all your choices I'd probably go with the tC.

Honestly, I would have had a hard time deciding between the RSX and tC when it comes to style. Luckily the tC wasn't out yet. I like the way the tC looks and the glass roof. But I haven't test driven one so I can't attest to the performance difference. Saving $5-6k isn't bad thing either

Re: 02 RSX Type S or 05 Scion tC?

yea.. hm lets see i test drove one.. the first thing i noticed.. was the engine is rediculously smooth.. unlike the celica/corolla n some other cars.. i drove a 5spd and i was redlining first gear.. but there was barely any sound.. such a nice smooth engine with lots of torque, i was kinda concentrating on not getting it damaged in any way and there was a lil bit of traffic so i didnt really have time to check out the interior while driving.. but the 1st gear seems kinda short for a car like that.. or maybe i was just dozing off.. anyways i never drove a rsx but i've driven other hondas with kinda low torque compared to hp.. and the tc sees a bit quicker.. well just go test drive one they should have it at the toyota dealers

I drove it too, and yeah, the engine is really smooth and quiet. Gobs of low-end power compared to the Civic Si I had just driven. The tranny is geared more towards economy than performance, which makes sense, seeing as how it was lifted from the Camry. The interior is really nice, but the car itself is just a little too bland for my tastes. Still a great value though.

But we knew the tc was going to be value, its a Toyota. and I think we can generally assume the same thing as acura (except the EL which is only available in Canada me thinks)... it comes down to, is a bit better performance, style, and interior worth the extra money

No, I mean, the tC is REALLY a damn good value. The amount of standard upscale features for the price is mind-blowing...and it only costs 16.5K. I'm not sure if the Type S is worth the extra 6-7K since I haven't driven one, but I doubt it can beat the tC badly enough in luxury and comfort to justify the extra money.

The tC is a better value but i'd still take the RSX for its better handling, better transmission, and it'll be a bit rarer.

aznxthuggie - Out of your car list I think the tC is the best, the SE-R is junk, IMO, and the matrixes have space, but that's it.

The SE-R is a little outdated and the handling could use some work, as well as the transmission, but it's hardly junk...
