The Mazda Tribute w/the V-6 is hardly anything to laugh at. It has 200 Hp and is quick off the line. Sure, its no BMW X5, but it can still haul ass.

go do some research on 1st generation Mazda Mx6 Gt's and look at the J-spec 1st gen mx6 with a lil motor called the FE3....do some research on that motor and tell me all mazdas are slow. Also im not saying my car is the fastest thing in the world but a 2.5 v6 with 164hp and 160ft/lbs in a car weighing under 2700lbs isnt a dog. Stock people have run 15.4's....at least its faster than the all mighty E-spec Civic Si

OK Mazda bashers. My 1990 Mazda Poopage' did 110 From Seattle to Spokane. We had a guy in a brand new Honda Civic that tried to keep up with us for 50 miles or so and finally gave up.

Off the stoplights yesterday I smoked a Ford Mustang Cobra and yes he was trying. He smoked his tires for about 10 feet my car barely chirped the tires.

Bone stock 180k miles and a blown head gasket and it'll still do 100MPH

I say ZOOOOOOOM ZOOOOOM.

as much as I love mazda's and hate mustangs, your on crack. there is no way you could have beat him especially with a blown head gasket. you must be running on steam power

I would have a hard time believing an old Protege could out drag a Cobra even if the Protege were heavily modified, but an old stock Protege... that is lol.

He didn't know how to drive it. He spun the tires so bad he never hooked up. He was racing the guy next to him and he blew my doors off. If he could get the thing to hook up it definitely has the power. If I had the money I'd take the Stang over an old poopage'. My point is just that the Mazdas are better than most people think. Stock the engine has like 127 HP and as the clearances increase it goes up due to less friction (only slightly though).

The head gasket leak is small. Last year it overheated(due to a water pump belt breaking) to the point that the radiator exploded. Hasn't shown any signs of a problem until this year.

And yes it will still do 100+ MPH. I autocrossed it last month and it broke 100MPH. I finished second in my class to a Honda S2000. He kicked my butt big time.

There are a lot of cars out there that will beat me but I'm often impressed by my little Mazda.

Takes on snow almost like a jeep, and does 0-60 in about 5 seconds,

nice car to take day trips in...

I should have bought a maroon one though... i saved alot of cash buying the blue...

I like the blue better, but maroon is a really cool color too. I'm putting on a new head gasket now so it will be nice that it won't overheat anymore.

All this coming from a guy who prides himself on a G20. Nissan produces nothing but sh!t. Hell the 350 probably keeping them out of bankruptcy. And that thing needs a mustang emblem on because I think it has the worse turning capabilities than the mustang. What were the lateral Gs on that thing. Horrible I remember. I had a rent-a-car a few weeks back. I was kind of impressed because I was getting a maxima. Jesus that thing was all plastic and sh!t. You put you elbow on the console, and the friggin cup holder pops out. The dash just looked cheap. On there interiors look cheap. The most stupid commercial is the Maxima racing the sun going down. Talk about gay. Like that car has anything close to those capabilities. Please. Then they turn the altima into the maxima size, and give it the burden, so they can send the maxima to compete with the bigger sedans. Now the front of it looks like an Oldsmobile. The old three hundred had a little zoom to it I guess. I never see any of them hang with the big dogs. That kid who says zoom zoom is actually a over seas ad that they tried over here. BTW, other countries still had the FD up until August of last year. SO I guess technically they just lost their power house, and if you didn't know there is a 3 rotor cosmo that has alot of power as well. Why do people just start shit like that.

Did you NOT read the above comment? The statement was that the Tribute is NOT an X5...but isn't a piece of crap either. Style is a personal thing and it would seem that it is stylish to many people. Quality isn't particularly bad on the Tribute. Quit bashing unless you can make a point.
