I already told you i know for a fact they can. I've driven one.
I even just recently did maintenance on one, guy just bought it and i asked if he'd done anything with it, and he was testing in the high 14's(stock) Not all track and testing conditions are going to be the same wherever you go. And you would think that someone who drives the car all the time like my good ole buddy steak, they will know how to launch the car better. And as for your race, some people just can't drive, are you sure it was a comp g? |

http://www.teamnabr.com/modules.php?...showpage&pid=8 I got a 9.1 @80.9(1/8) on my 14.0s(1/4) run. This is the first time I have ever been to a track and I am sure I will do better next week. I am sure with practice I can improve my 2.77 60' to atleast a 2.2 on street tires which should get me deep into the 13s. Here is a link to the 1/4 mile listing from clubgp. You can see what mods were used to get whatever times. There are 100s of GPs running sub 5 second 0-60s and there are scores running sub 4s 0-60s. http://www.clubgp.com/cgi-asp/qtrmile.asp?txtfunc=1

My mods: Headers, 2.5" exhaust with no cat, 1.9 Rockers, Intake, and a 3.25 pulley If I can get a 14.0 with a 2.7 60' imagine what I would have with a 2.1! A 3000SL does not stand a chance from a stop, sorry. A VR4 would probably be fun race if it was stock. By the way I am not pleased with my sub 5s 0-60 and 14.0s pass I had a freakin 2.77 60'!!!!!!!! I should have a 4.5s 0-60 and a 13.5s 1/4!

your numbers are alittle off. how is your car goin to do 0-60 in under 5 seconds yet still run a 14.0? most cars that run's 14.0 does 0-60 in around 5.5-6.0 seconds. and a car that does do 0-60 in 4.9 seconds are low 13 second cars. if you claim that if you can run a 0-60 in 4.5 seconds and only run a 13.5 then that means your top end must really suck balls. becusae a 4.5 0-60 second car is usually in the high 12's trapping close to 110mph. what was your trap speed for that run by the way? i'm not here to bust your balls but your 0-60 does not match your 1/4 time. OR your car falls flat on its face after it hits 80 or 90

Re: Smoked a Camaro
OK used the LS1M software to calculate a 0-60 on the street. Now for the track, I got a 9.1 @80.9mph in the 1/8 on the [email protected] run.
convert 1/8 to 0-60 At this site it is possible to convert 1/8 mile times to 0-60s and mine comes up at 5.0s with a 2.77 60' shitty launch. THAT is how I have a 4.95s 0-60 time. I will do better this wednesday, and if anyone wants to see a sort of quick GTP come to Sacramento Speedway this Wednesday. |

Re: Re: Smoked a Camaro
I never thought there would be this many doubters for a terrible track time. These GTPs are good for sub 4second 0-60s, that is their specialty, low-mid range power and tons of low end torque. Compared to the average car that runs similar times yes the topend is the weakness.

Re: Smoked a Camaro
That site is very cool! I did the estimate for our race car and it came up as 0-60 in 2.0 seconds, lol, that is if the car woudl run what I think it would (6.40s, 107 mph or so, maybe 6.30s @ 108)

TatII have you forgotten a little thing called final drive ratios, not all cars are going to launch and finish the same, which seems to be what you think in that post.

Modspeak time for me.
3KSL95, consider this your warning. Jeffy here has posted his timeslip, the track he pulled the time at, his mod list, and the site he used to convert his timeslip into a 0-60 time. He admits to a bad launch and fully believes there's more in the car. All you're doing is coming back and saying. "No, you're wrong 'cause I said so." Start arguing sense, like Tat is doing, or you'll find yourself on an AF vacation. Modspeak over. So, anyhoo, Jeff, you have any good sites lined up for getting performance internals for 3800's? My boss has the engine out of his Bonneville SSEi (wicked rod knock, so he's getting it bored .030 over and rebuilding it) and is interested in cams, pistons, the whole nine yards.
