In my opinion the only 3000GT is a VR4 AWD. Now that is a performer, not a throw back base model.
.5 - .6 IS a lot of difference.

While the SL is not going to dance with the big boys, its often underestimated.

This guy does realize that 5/10th's of a second is a HALF A SECOND DIFFERENCE, and 6/10th's of a second is OVER HALF A SECOND DIFFERENCE.....hmmm, all be it that the SL is heavy, and the probe is light, they SL still has a better weight to horsepower ratio than the probe, but just barely. But, obviously enough to beat the probe by over half a second in a 1/4 mile drag, which BTW is an eternity and several car lengths....

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Re: 3000gt SL vs Ford Probe GT

Ok...the day after i got my 95 3000GT Base my sister saw a 97 Probe GT and she is looking for a car...so...we talked to the guy for a little and he let us drive it. My sister got to drive first then my dad...then me. That thing had something compard to my car. My dad even said that. I have driven one...its ok and it has some power...but nothing like a 3000GT.

Now as far a weight...i would take a heavier car befor a lightier some for all around use. The heavier car will stick to the ground better then a lightier car...just my $.02.

Lol! Nicely put. But anyways, this is ridiculous. Stock for stock no Probe has anything over any SL. 1/4 mile times prove that, as does personal experience. So what's left to argue?
