Re: Cops....ugh

Colov99...I know what you mean about getting stopped just because of the car you drive. I get stopped at least once a month. It also doesn't help when you work nights and are driving home during the wee hours. For the most part, they just harrass me about "is this your vehicle?" - "just a check for dui" - or some stupid shit like that.
It's just a pain in the ass during a lunch break, or after a long day at work.
With that said, sometimes they stop cars for no good reason and end up finding something worth while. Less drunk drivers on the road is a small price to pay for a few minutes of downtime.......

As for cops don't worry about it, let them do thier job, they didn't wrong you in anyway, just annoyed you a little, life goes on.

so wait, you in your chevy caprice and colov, in his crown victoria(both cop cars),claim to have trouble with getting pulled over based om the vehicles you drive? I figure cops would be hesitant cuz they may be attempting to pull over a Dt.

try driving a dropped import with intake and exhaust, then come talk to me, ugh. even if you don't get pulled over, every flopper you pass by eyeballs you. i gotta admit though, since i got my new car i haven't been messed with.

Re: Cops....ugh

actualy amazing enough ive only gotten yeled at by a cop the once after my accident. but every time i park or drive by a cop i get the look (even my g/f in the car notices it). (her uncle is a cop in the town and is a huge bigot and so is most of the towns cops). i have no problems with cops. i just some times have problems with who they stop or glare at. i know many of my freinds have goten pulled over or tailed for no reason because they were driving safely while others who drive like maniacs just speed on by cops. the worst was my freind who almost got arrested for crashing into a tree. (instead he got a $100 citation ). (he fought it out).

Re: Cops....ugh

Ok before anybody else goes on about how cops ruin there day...let me point this out. If there werent any cops do you think you would have the parts on your car that you have? (No ones there to stop people from stealing them.) How are you gonna feel when some drunk dumbass runs into your prized car and ruins 15 grand. (Cops werent there to stop them.) I can go on and on with stuff like that but ill save the time. Heres the truth: If cops werent here people would whine because there werent people like cops. I never will get people like that. No I dont get off because my dads a cop and never will. Want to know why? I try not to do anything wrong. Sorry for those of you who have cops in your town who abuse their rights but I dont in my town so I dont know what its like.

Re: Cops....ugh

dyno, i have no problems with cops, im glad their out there. and the drunks run into our cars alot of the time anyways even if there are cops because there either arnt enough cops or there not out doing the right things. i personaly could never be a cop. theres alays a chance of getting killed or being shot at or getting injured during a rutine stop or anything. i am in no way putting down all cops. just those few that spend time pulling over teenagers because they want to prove their better then them instead of pulling over the people who are drunk or actualying doing something. and dyno i wihed i lived in your town. but the problem with a big town and state (with tons of really bad drivesr , go MA) is that some cops just get fed up with it and start pulling over everyone they think might be bad drivers not who are. so i guess part of it is the cops part is the enviroment. my guess is you live in a fairly quiet town. and to your last statment i never do anyting to get introble wit the cops, neither do my freinds, but they still manage to get pulled over for driving to a friends house at 11pm or having an accidnt and the cop immideatly assuming their drunk. so its good we have cops i just think we should pay them more so they actualy care about what they do a bit more. instead of having to make up stupid fines to keep their precent in buisness because our goverment doesnt want to fund cops but rather a "homeland defence". which basicly is higher paid cops with more power.... i realy think that if cops got paid better and had better benifites we would get pulled over less often. but thast just my 2cents. and i could be totaly off my rocker..

ps sorry for the long post

Re: Cops....ugh

I was merely pointing out that I tend to get stopped more often with this car than with my previous or other cars. I don't mind getting stopped too often, as I pointed out in my previous post. It is annoying, but it does help them to find the odd drunk driver, or person with an outstanding warrant. I understand that they have a job to do, whichever way they decide to go about it. I know that I don't appreciate people trying to tell me how to do my job

I just wanted to say that I can relate to Colov99 in the situations that arize from driving an ex-cruiser. I never noticed these things until I bought this car. Now that I have one, people are much more courteous at intersections, on the highway, etc. until they see the person driving People that I work with were constantly telling me to paint a big X on my car so that they would know I am not a cop. Now they've gotten used to the car, and don't say much about it anymore. The police seem to notice a car like this more-so than a run of the mill grand am or accord.

Everyone I know has complained about getting stopped at one time or another, it's just universal. I'm not nit picking about it. Just sharing an experience.
