the title says, muscle of imports, he means for you who don't understand, strong engines or fast cars of japan. whats the muscle of german cars maybe a m3. what are the strong fast cars of japan since you guys refuse to camaflouge to what he means. and nsx was mentioned and mr2's dont run less t han 14.0 sec stock thats why they weren's mentioned most likely but i do say they are very nice cars and quick. now can we all relate now? whats the fast cars of japan. all american cars that run less than 14.0 sec are known as muscle
mustang camaro trans am and everything else you think of. with that said stop babling about no jap muscles and speak your mind about the fastest jap cars.

And the RX-7 is Mid-engine because it lies between the front and rear axle. Just because the engine is infront of you doesnt mean its not a mid-engine...
i dont know where the engine is in a rx-7, but if what you say is true about it being between the front axle and rear axle, than it is a mid-engine car. take the new ferrari f-612 for example, it is considered a mid-engine car but the engine is in the front, the 6.0L v-12 (hint the name) sits behind the front axle and in front of the rear axle.

well now that i think of it.. for the japanese it wouldn't really be the car that is the muscle.. for many years toyota used the same engine in all the old mr2 / ae86 trueno / celica gt i think its some 4banger.. but it must have been good in its time because it was used to widely n etc for mitsubishi they used the 4ag something engine n almost all the 4banger cars they had and it still beign used.. so it must be good.. and in for nissan the rb26dett was used in 3 generations of skylines.. im friggin sure its a muscle car much more i haven't mention but i hope i proved my point

When did this happen?? Mustangs and Camaros are PONY cars, not Muscle cars, Corvettes aren't Muscle cars but they're made in America and are sub 14 cars...

Christ now I'm starting to sound like you guys, I'm done!

if your saying mustang cobra's and ws6 and camaro's are not muscle cars, then i'm done as well, lol. These are the fastest muscle cars of all time, as ranked by Muscle Car Review Magazine, the source on muscle cars. This ranking was developed by comparing muscle cars as measured by different, respected sources, which were then ranked by their respective quarter mile elapsed times.

Re: What is "the muscle" of Imports??

Thank you youngvr4, a lot, post#31 and #37 well said! Are you the only one that understands me, i think i typed in english? Anyway, you all can notice the "quotes" around "the muscle". I didn't even come out and say "Japan has muscle cars..." so don't call my thread stupid. From what i know, a true muscle car is a production car with a lot of power, way more than the norm, dating to before the crisis of 1973. But the term "muscle" can be used as an allusion and refer to any later cars that reprsent that distinction in their current sphere, aka the "muscle cars" of Europe, those european production cars offering the most power and performance out of the whole plethera. The determination of what counts as elite performance can undoubtedly be a quarter mile mark. So there can be modern domestic muscle, and modern Japanese muscle. Obviously the aren't muscle cars absolutely, they are muscle cars relatively. And most Sports cars are exotic expensive two-seaters, 4-seaters are sports coupes. Anyway, all I was originally asking was pretty much is what cars are the big players out of all Japanese cars.

now in know way am i calling anyone a liar or am i being stubborn but, my dad was really into the muscle car era he had a road runner hemi. asking most people or lots of people if a mustang boss was a muscle car or shelby gt 500 or a challenger most or lots would say yes. even my dad.

i mean thats like saying my vr4 is not a sports car its a touring car and also with the 350z ok thats what they called it but by all means its a sports car by performance and strength. and actually more of a sports car then most sports cars.

like i said i'm not tryna be stubborn at all but i'm sticking to what i believe and lots of others, mustang is a pony car but by all performance definition it is THE DEFINITION OF AMERICAN MUSCLE!

Re: What is "the muscle" of Imports??

i live in kuwait and we get camaros and mustangs, true muscle versions with the same engines (only better ) , built to be sold in GCC countries, these cars arent available in the US, there are lots of them, its because we dont have the 400 Cubic Inch limit laws, we get em up to 450 Cu and its legal to install custom 500+ Cu engines for the street , i LOVE kuwait, they r monsters they pump out 350+ HP while stock and the lumina is RWD
